DLC 19 Speculation

Just based off the videos Ive seen the actual new stuff with the water parks are good and look fun but the pieces are kinda boring and not that high quality (specially the rocks for example) - I’m also not that into theme parks in general which is why I left the first game shortly after buying it. I came into getting this one with an open mind but now I’m not sure, it just doesn’t look “new” enough as a sequel to get me back into it.

It's so sad to see that frontier removed most of PZ team for PlanCo2 and because of that we got less packs and then PlanCo2 releases with bugs😭.
By the way, what would you think of this pack? Is it something that frontier could do? Give me positive and negative things about this pack. Thanks
Endangered animal pack:
Animals
  1. Goodfellow's tree kangaroo
  2. Secretary bird
  3. Black footed ferret
  4. Père David's deer
  5. Slender-snouted crocodile
  6. Western giant eland
  7. Kago
  8. Golden lion tamarin
  9. WE: Slow loris
  10. E: Giant salamander
Scenery: endangered plants, backstage stuff, zoo buggies, new mesh and new enritchemnt items.

  • Wouldn't expect anything over 7 animals right off the bat
  • Rocks and Enrichment items are extremely unlikely this far in
  • Animal roster is decent but for one of the last packs there is a lot here that doesn't really need to make it and more feel like oddballs (e.g anoa, monk seal, aye-aye, kago, ferret)

I would love some more cold climate animals!!
Exact same sentiment here!

If we'd follow the same regime as this year, then I'd love to have a cold climate pack and a warm climate pack. Not giving them specific names because I don't really care about that, but these would be my ideal rosters and if I could sign for these then I would in an instant.

Cold climate
  • Walrus
  • Gentoo/Chinstrap Penguin
  • Musk Ox
  • Sea Otter
  • Domesticated Yak
  • Canada Goose
  • Mountain Hare
In terms of pieces I'd love to have some more "zoo" shaped ice/snow pieces. Obviously fake looking stuff, but just stuff that let's you make the real zoo kind of cold atmosphere. I'd even like some more actual marine/marina pieces which I still think are sorely lacking in the Aquatics pack.

Warm Climate
  • Coati
  • Bush Dog
  • Tree Kangaroo
  • Tamarin
  • Tomistoa
  • Yellow-backed Duicker
  • Howler Monkey
Left some of the specific species vague because as long as it's one I'm fine with it; but in terms of scenery desperately want some extra glass dome pieces to make tropical houses with. That and mud wall pieces, it's a darn shame those are still not in the game.

Yeah, from what I have seen it looks like PC2 was mostly made with consoles in mind, which I really do not like. Really makes me worried about Planet Zoo sequel.
IMO it actually meets somewhere in the middle and looks pretty good. I'm hoping to get it soon. Plus the features it includes are getting nothing but praise - the new pathing system, the foliage brush, the scaling, and so on. When it comes to PZ2, the pathing system alone will be spectacular, especially since it will likely be applied to barrier construction as well.

I only wish they'd do away with "prop fences" and just give us a click-and-drag guest fence system. I always appreciated that about the original Zoo Tycoon - decorative fences were still just fences and were used in the same way as exhibit fences. No need to place each piece down.

Thanks for your opinion! Yes I think that maybe 13 is a bit too much, but what would you think about 10? (remove the anoa, monk seal and aye-aye). Probably a new set of rocks is difficult to make but I thikn it would be a missed opotunity not to make a "false" sanke eritchment item or for the slow loris a "nest" for them to hide, just like how burrows work.

Is it me or is Planet Coaster 2 absolutely bombing
This is a bad sign for frontier. They are not getting benefits from planco 2, warhammer and f1. For what I read the interface too focused in console. The same happened to JWE but at least the UI is more accesible for pc player. I hope they will learn this for pz2 if they are planning to do it. I think I will stick to pz and my loyal zoo tycoon 1.

Also kinda annoying to me at least that frontier spends all this time on Planet Coaster 2 and F1 and all those games when Planet zoo is still their consistent moneymaker and probably the game that gets the most attention from the community right now - yet we still get sidelined so much right now on both the marketing and DLC quality currently, its disappointing.

I'd like to try my self out with a warm and cold roster so my likable roster would be:

Cold Pack:
Pacific Walrus [Headliner]
Sea Otter
Alpine Marmot
Snowshoe Hare
Southern Rockhopper Penguin
Musk Ox
Canadian/Snow Goose
Antarctic Scientific Research theme with 95 pieces

Warm Pack:
White-Nosed Coatimundi [Headliner]
Scarlet Ibis
Geoffrey's Spider Monkey
Red-Rumped Agouti
Southern Pudu/Mouse Deer
Bush Dog
Tree Kangaroo
Linnaeus Two Toed Sloth [WTE]
