Yeah, like Palla's cat... when you see the mod vs the official you notice how much the missed the mark with the official version.Birds are sadly pretty much a lost cause, and modders are definetly what will save them in the end. Which isnt to bad imo as mod quality has become so good by now that its pretty much on level with frontier, and even surpassed it in some recent animals.
Yeah its kinda shocking when you put some side by side.Yeah, like Palla's cat... when you see the mod vs the official you notice how much the missed the mark with the official version.
Literally the only mod downside is the sounds, and maybe the janky movement from the rigs. Which is really a duck issue.Birds are sadly pretty much a lost cause, and modders are definetly what will save them in the end. Which isnt to bad imo as mod quality has become so good by now that its pretty much on level with frontier, and even surpassed it in some recent animals.
it is actually amazing how good the remaster is. Which also unfortunately sours Frontier for me a bit.Yeah, like Palla's cat... when you see the mod vs the official you notice how much the missed the mark with the official version.
Hard disagree.modders are definetly what will save them in the end.
Yea I agree the sounds are still really ruining the immersion for me so far with Mods. They gotta figure that outHard disagree.
Seriously it's the sounds. I don't care how good the thing looks, if it sounds like the wrong animal, it's just the original animal in costume.
ehh... it depends. For animals like the lyre bird or the howler monkey yeah, totally... or animals that are based on other animals that have very iconic calls like the peafowl... those are indeed inmersion breaking. But for most ungulates, cats, dogs, small mammals, rodents, penguins, etc i don't think it matters that much.Yea I agree the sounds are still really ruining the immersion for me so far with Mods. They gotta figure that out
To be fair, the vanilla animals haven't had a stellar track record eitherYea I agree the sounds are still really ruining the immersion for me so far with Mods. They gotta figure that out
Yeah... donkey, tassie. To be fair, the vanilla animals haven't had a stellar track record either![]()
The sound is was ruins the immersion for me aswell, tho in a different way. I really dislike how the animals in game constantly make noise. Like if are at a zoo you dont hear a never ending stream of roars, grunts and screams. Not to mention thats the constant animal noises and gibberish of the staff get real annyoing real quick imo.Yea I agree the sounds are still really ruining the immersion for me so far with Mods. They gotta figure that out
It does. No two deer sound the same, for example. A musk deer with an elk's bugle would be horrible, just like how the OG lynx mod roared like a jaguar. Everyone touted it as revolutionary (at the time) but it was awful - it just looked really good. Penguins, too, all make very different sounds. Even in the game the king penguin, African penguin, and blue penguin sound completely different. But for most ungulates, cats, dogs, small mammals, rodents, penguins, etc i don't think it matters that much.
Which is a bummer, but for the most part it's still better than what the modders can achieve. To be fair, the vanilla animals haven't had a stellar track record either![]()
Very unique lemur being a ringtailed clone? I think that one mods and official animals have in commonLike, there is a fantastic aye-aye mod, but its based on the ringtailed lemur so its really active and constantly jumping about, when it should be on stealth mode, finger at the ready.

I think one bird feels pretty likely. Between the highly requested one (secretary bird) and semi-aquatic options that would make people flip (pelican, duck) I'd say it's pretty likely. But my money is on the secretary bird...If you guys had to bet now, would we get atleast one bird in the next pack?
I think so, I hope it’s Latin America then we could potentially get Rhea and Spoonbill/Flamingo
Yeah, I think pelican or secretary bird are most likely. But I'm not ruling out a duck! Mostly because pre-swan it wasn't like anybody was clamoring for that species... But it was the star of the Eurasia pack for a lot of people. I could see ducks being something similar.IMO a pelican feels more likely, if only because it's been popular for far longer and is less dubiously an "open air" bird. The spoonbill falls under the same awkward category as the ibis and secretarybird.
This website has a few members obsessed with ducks but beyond it they don't seem that popular.
I'll be more than happy with any of thoseI think one bird feels pretty likely. Between the highly requested one (secretary bird) and semi-aquatic options that would make people flip (pelican, duck) I'd say it's pretty likely. But my money is on the secretary bird...
If it's a Latin America pack then swap that out for the greater rhea. Wouldn't be my pick for the region but I do think it's the one that's most likely for that theme.
