DLC 19 Speculation

Another thing to bear in mind is that with the second flamingo out of the way, if we get another annviersary animal, it could be the American black bear. It would be cool to complete the bears, but not at the expense of a DLC slot, so making the last bear a birthday gift would be nice. We'll see!

Guys guys. Yes the coyete is kind of dissapointing (and unnecesary?) but let's analize this:

  • we get two birds (two clones granted but two important ones... Still waiting for that duck though)
  • we also get a new world monkey! And a very pretty one too, super cute. Not the ones everyone has been speculating about but a very unique and interesting species regardless.
  • the arid feel gives room for mara and white nosed coati as well.
  • is the first pack we'll get a.monkey and two birds and the third primate in a row!
  • is pack that bring us back to the americas, soemthing we have been asking for a long a time.
  • there is probably going to be another pack down the line and there is one more anniversary in novembee, american black bear is still possible.

So as usual.in Frontier's style not the optimal roster (even considering other clones like ocelot and brazilian tapir) but it has a lot of positives!
Thanks for the summary. I missed it and trying to keep up with the exploding thread here
So, coyote and rhea are confirmed and the saki and the flamingo apparently as well? Don't like the coyote tbh but two birds and a new world monkey already make this pack one of the best! Now please give us a coati and mara and I'll be very happy.

And fellow forum people, we were right with guessing an Americas pack🥳

If you gonna have two birds in the America's have Rhea and Scarlet Ibis or a Spoonbill, not another flamingo...
To be honest I do understand the sentiment, but if this is the American Flamingo it really is an iconic species. Boring? Maybe. But when people think flamingo they think the vibrant pink of the American. I mean even the emoji looks more like an American flamingo than the Greater Flamingo 🦩

I think the problem is the Roseate Spoonbill and Scarlet Ibis would need some kind of perching feature. They would spend a bit too much time on the ground, compared to regular captivity where they seem to be half and half.

Hear me out... America's animal pack, then a "Worldwide" animal pack with the secretary and the echidna, and the bear for the anniversary. BAM!

Yea I can sort of see it now. The "dip" in the middle of the face is present and certainly the black part of the face looks the same shape. You can clearly see two shoulder looking shapes in either side and where the two hands are grabbing, with the legs in between looking like one blob but considering how they sit (like in the pic here) it makes sense. Tail seems right too.

I have had this theory for a while now that frontier actively chooses to make mid tier packs on purpose and I doubt a frontier designed pack will ever come close to an optimal roster. Also this pack is simultaneously great for diversity 2 birds another monkey and south america but also really bad with 3/5 of the animals teased being repeat genera and another one being a strong clone candidate.
But I don’t really understand why everyone isn’t a bit more happy about this one, I mean we finally got the Rhea and a SA monkey, and a pretty good one at that. Both things that we have waited ages for. Flamingo and sheep are nice improvements on current models, and the coyote is a nice rep for the west.

Currently the ratio is 2 (NA) to 3 (SA) so I bet we get 1 more of each. Coati and Mara perhaps?
Im thinking it will be a 4/4 ratio so american black bear and coati

Im overall not that happy with this pack simply because I personally dont care about south america it has never ranked high on my wants besides tamarins and exhibit animals. The only animals that were even on my top 100 are the sheep and flamingo.
I do however see the incredible utility of this pack and understand why its both a good sign and good for the roster

I mean my hope is we get a waterfowl still, but yeah I think coati and Mara are likely.

I got to be honest I was expecting no birds so the fact we got the Rhea and a flamingo makes me so happy.

I would also like to say, the key art only features two animals definitively.
  1. The flamingo can still be chilean
  2. The monkey could still be a howler (it does look a lot like the saki but we might see)
  3. The bighorn sheep really just falls on if they do a subspecies or not
We still have two slots left, and if it’s like Eurasia with the mute swan it might be a huge surprise. I’ll say though finally getting another NWM and bird makes me forgive ZooKeeper a bit more.
I would argue the only one we know for certain is the coyote with the bighorn being species level accurate.
I would not put it past frontier to do the lesser instead of the greater rhea and we cant really tell which from just a silhouette. We also cant determine which species or subspecies of flamingo it is without colour or size. The saki is probably the next closest since if it really is a saki its almost guaranteed to be the white faced.
