DLC 19 Speculation

Honestly Would Have Thought Thylacines Would Be Brought Back First. Also The Puppies Are Too Cute.
Well, it's easier to genetically edit a wolf - especially when you don't even try to make it accurate to the real thing.
A white coat would be extremely disadvantageous for an animal that lives in more or less warm or temperate climates. Colossal even explained that, while they tried to edit their "dire wolves" to be white, they ran into a bunch of problems because the gene responsible for white fur also caused health problems such as blindness or deafness... The DNA was literally telling them that the animal wasn't meant to be white.
Still, it's kinda cool that these exist now

We got real-life* Dire Wolves before this DLC:

*[I know they were real, but they were extinct for 10,000 years... Also I'll be honest, these don't really look up-to-date with what recent research tells us about Dire Wolves]
I know I saw a short about it, I am unbelievable excited, I can already picture animals like the Dodo, Tasmanian Tiger, and Ground Sloth coming back, aw well as animals with low populations getting a boast like Red Wolf, Barbirusa, and Vaquita

I can do worse than that for worst case scenario: Humboldt Penguin and Panamanian white-faced capuchin
True, personally I wouldn't mind something like a tufted capuchin though!

What do you think the odds are that the DLC releases a week later than we're expecting, on the 22nd rather than the 15th?

Humboldt Penguin
I mean, I would prefer a tropical bird species. South America is most famous for its rainforests and we still don’t have a tropical bird species to use in game. Now us getting the American Flamingo would help a lot. It isn’t a rainforest animal but it is tropical, so putting it in a rainforest inspired habitat wouldn’t be too far stretched.

Now let’s assume that in this DLC we are getting three birds, and one of the birds is the Humboldt penguin. Let’s remember that South Americas bird representation started with this:

And we would end with something like this:

All in all, way better! So I wouldn’t be too mad. Weird South America would have more penguins that Antarctica. But hey, beggars can’t be choosers.

Except me, I am a beggar and I am choosing the white faced whistling duck. I mean look at this range:

Much better way to end the South America bird debate (strongly my own opinion haha) but we would get a (non flying) bird for tropical South Americas that actually lives in the rainforest. So that is a much better place for us to end on.

Also for funsies, here is the bird representation for North Americas in Planet Zoo. Assuming Frontier won’t fumble the bag with the American Flamingo. Also assuming we aren’t getting more than the two birds seen so far in the pack.

Now ain’t that depressing? 5 years to finally get one! Either way I’ll be happy to finally have a single bird species for North Americas.
