DLC18 discussion and predictions

Frontier............... Yeah OK we had some agreements and disagreements but honestly.... Look!!!! In this legendary 1 of a kind conservation and animal variety game which has never been seen before and can't be replicated to such a good quality, you cannot leave out flying birds. You just can't. Please x

Disney Animal Kingdom has the Kilimanjaro Safari with buses

That's a bus? ...I always thought that was some kind of truck, like the Jurassic Tour in Jurassic World...

If this is truly the final DLC... and they truly intend on making a sequel... then more than likely yes, they will leave out flying birds...

I think the "influencers" of planet zoo are to blame for that, the popular youtubers say there is an update and oh wow big name says dlc coming soon it just be true. Someone comes here and gets shot down saying it's nothing lol.
Fair play. It just seems to spread like wildfire every time. And I thought it was well-documented what we had to be on the lookout for... But I guess not everybody reads these forums so aggressively.

Shrug. At least we know this'll all be over sometime soon. We could see an update anywhere between tomorrow and November 27th. :ROFLMAO: We only have a max of four more months to wait!

The dlc might be whats on everybodys mind, but tbh i dont really care about it.
Besides south america the game is fine animal wise as it is rn and i expect any final pack to be a neat pack that wont be able to fix the gaping holes that opend up over the last few years. The lack of primates and birds just simply isnt something that any one pack can fix or even put a bandaid on, so aslong as the pack wont be the literal worst animal pack they ever made im most likly gonna be fine with it and tbh i would allready see any pack that delivers on the baboon, tree kangaroo and pelican a great pack, no matter what ungulate and carnivoran hell the other animals are.
But what interest me much more then the final pack would be the final update, even if its most likly for a different reason then most.
While another big feature could be cool, especally if its adding more customiseability to the exhibits, most idears floating around really did not catch my interest as it just adds another thing on top of instead of something that well integrates into the current gameplay. Sure hotels or cars could add something interesting, but they are anything but a gurantee to change how we think about our zoo layout and stuff.
Instead what im really looking forward to is the last batch of quality of life changes, things like toggleable hitboxes on objects, more flexicolor, better performance, population management for habitats like we have for exhibits, fixing of some of the last bigger bugs, etc.
Thats where imo a last patch can really shine to make this game even better in the longterm and to ensure people keep playing it for a long term instead of just a one and done feature like hotels

Do zoos actually have bus tours? If anything, I'd hope this means a tram vehicle tour is feasible.
Monarto had two circuits last time I was there, regular public transport buses for most of the park, and a mini bus for the carnivore tour (with a tyre wash between the lions and cheetahs to prevent disease spread).

I agree what interests me the most isnt the dlc animals but what the update brings or any major dlc adjacent features. An exhibit rework even a simple one is what im most looking forward to it isnt that far fetched and would be a great way to end the game off with another major update that would impact the base game the most and about half the packs.

I do care about the DLC animals but mostly because is the last chance i get to get birds and my favorite local animals into the game. But even outside of those i would love a ton of other additions. I just like animals in general. What i hope they are not just random boring or clone ungulates like idk white tailed deer, second zebra or giraffe(i mean i would like Grevy's and Masai but not in the last DLC instead o something like a blackbuck, musk ox or gerenuk).

But even if we don't get South American animals like i want the most things like Palla's cat, musk ox, blackbuck, pelican, sea otter, etc do excite me as well.

My only hope is that we will still get the theme makers tool kit before game ends.

But if I'm honest, I also hope a little that this is really the last pack. I'm too old for this waiting...

While i dont want it to be the last, i prefer thinking of it as the last. Keeps dissappointment at bay if it should really be the last and if not thats an exciting surprise then!
Its also a much more defined context to speculate in. There is no "could come later" which might kinda suck once it happens but for theorising this late in a time span it is pretty great because for example technically they could still do a pretty nice indian animal pack if support continues but for the sake of a final pack id would be lowkey a crime if the ungulate slot wouldnt be filled by the blackbuck.
The only real issue that i got for the end of support is that for an actually all around satisfying roster there would be atleast 2 more packs needed, a grabback one and one with a south america focus, but i mean we all do kind of know that.
But yeah i accepted that bird, monkey, reptile and exhibit variety will most likly still kinda suck once support ends and with everything else being more on the nitpick level im kind of fine to just let modders take the wheel

Watching a video from GamesCom and the footage is kinda grainy but... Looks like they re-used assets from Planet Zoo in pretty smart ways. And now I'm left wondering how much certain packs in the last year or two were influenced by the knowledge that PC2 was in the pipeline. Haha. Oceania and Twilight immediately come to mind based on what little I just saw and knowing what the themes are in PC2. Haha.

I'm suprised most of us are rather patient for the next dlc despite the summer turning up no news, I was expecting august to be like this:

We've been beaten into submission. Hah. JK. Kinda.

Real talk, though: I think it speaks to the trust people have in the company. By and large people know, understand, and respect the situation. We know it's coming. Just a matter of when. If they need more time because resourcing is low or whatever? That is what it is. If we didn't get that confirmation of a "next DLC" that image is fully where we'd all be. LOL

I do have to say, though, I'm dreading what happens after the next DLC when people refuse to give up the ghost despite it being very obvious that PC2 is the new golden child that gets the regular DLCs.

I'm fully expecting "trust me guys, here's why planet zoo 2 HAS to come out in 2026" to take over the planet zoo 2 speculation thread for a long time 😂 For everyone's sake I hope the forum members maybe just maybe build a zoo past the entrance or have a healthy discussion about what good things can come to a sequel.

... Or a 2 year argument between team aquarium and team aviary.

Well they are at least going to bring up console edition next stream cause if they are sticking with the bundles coming out every other month the next one is coming in September. Surely it can't be that hard for them to say one line about the PC DLC too... right?!
