DLC18 discussion and predictions

When I think again about it all mentioned animals could have fit into either the Arid animal Pack (Secretary Bird, Hamadryas Baboon, Impala, Civet) or the Oceania Pack (Tree Kangaroo, Echidna). Really, I think these were potentially animal ideas for the Pack which already were translated into planco but did not come to the game at the end but somehow landed within the dictionary. I really cannot see an Afrooceanian Pack coming to us and there are no specific animal names within the list from other areas (unspecific yes but this would be a big coincidence that only from These two regions specific animals are mentioned).
That line of thinking of course makes a lot of sense, the only issue is that those animals were added after February this year

Back to serious topic 😁. I think we will visit Latin America with an animal Pack next time. My prediction is:
Coati sp. (Headliner)
Ocelot
Spectacled Bear
Bush Dog
Black Howler Monkey
Patagonian Mara
Spider Monkey

I could also See some Chances for the Greater Rhea or the Tamandua (which has potentially the Same Problems to get implemented as the Tree Kangaroo has) or a SA deer Like the Pudu.

My second possible candidate which I personally prefer is Kind of an African Safari Pack consisting of:
Kirk Dik Dik (at least I Hope, could also be Greater Kudu or Gerenuk)
Honey Badger
Serval
Hamadryas Baboon
Bat Eared Fox
Secretary Bird
Grey Crowned Crane

things is all but the tree kangaroo could easily fit into a savannah pack which has has been an idea for a while now

There is perhaps an intern dictionary which was updated continously by the workers and These words referring to the specific animals Just were not removed before the official Update of the dictionary. It is just suspicious to me that only animals fitting into two Packs released not so long ago are mentioned.

I don’t think civet or impala really bear mentioning in the current discussion - they existed in the dictionary before this update (although interestingly, aren’t present in the super old console Coaster dictionary), so it seems clear that they’re unrelated to this current “batch” of whatever’s going on. It’s possible they were also scrapped ideas from years past (as in, predating the Wetlands DLC).

Goodfellow also keeps tripping me up because it feels like such an outlier - you don’t see Baird, or Malayan or Sulawesi or a lot of the proper noun descriptions for our species. but then again there is Howe and all of the breeds for the new domestics so idk. I’m going to keep ruminating on this.

Here's what someone noticed when this was first discussed
All of them expect 4 words: Thomson's Baird's, Cuvier's, Lehmann's.
On the other hand Przewalski and Hermann are there written in same style as Goodfellow.

I wonder what they'll do if anything. Honestly, with the lack of community managers at the moment I wonder if they even look at the forums that often now. I know @Leaf Productions probably has better things to do than to grace us with his presence, but I would love his take on this!

Side Note: Howe, impala, baboon, python, dolphin, eagle, macaw, moray, eel, civet, and vulture are all in the Jan 27th version while the Goodfellow, hamadryas, bearded, and secretary are not. The fact that Howe is in the dictionary does make me a bit suspicious since it was allegedly scrapped from the Australia pack.

Impalas seem to actively avoid deserts, they prefer woodlands and savannahs

So, Civet and Impala were already within the dictionary in the old Version. Hmm, I must say that now I personally am even more convinced that these potentially are relicts from Oceania and Arid animal Pack as this seems to have been already the Case before and Not only with The Lord Howe Island Stick insect

Honestly the fact those words were added seemingly recently and then removed when we started talking about them helps the case that it has some legitamecy to it to be honest. I can't see why they would add these words in the first place out of nowhere and then remove them when people started talking about it.

They were not removed. They can Just not be found in the Planet Coaster Console Edition Planco dictionary as many other words, too. The words can still be found in all other planco dictionaries from PC PC edition over both Planet Zoo Editions.

What do you mean? Like in the Eurasia trailer? Their biomes in-game match the biomes they inhabit in the wild.
Expect temperate of course. Clear split where sloth bear ends and black bear starts. On top of that it can somehow endure temperates below zero.

Either way same pack featured takin with tropical tag and still features desert wild boars with imaginary distribution map so its not like sloth bear is one weird example 😀.

I would love both of those but i think i prefer an around the world safari pack with the blackbuck and the rhea in there somewhere. Though other than the bat eared fox i wouldn't want to replace any of those other animals haha

Anyway, thanks everyone for helping me out of my own doomthinking. I guess there is still hope for some more of South America.

I do hope hamadryas, secretary and tree kangaroo make it as well though.
