DLC18 discussion and predictions

... but we could build plazas already, like come on. Unless the pathing has been built from the ground up, it isn't that noteworthy.
Oh no I totally agree, idk how they’re gonna change it at all. I thought the pathing system was fine but I know a lot of people disagree with us on that (do people remember the grid paths existing?). Cool to see that they’re listening to criticism though and I’m interesting in seeing if they improve upon it at all.

Also I love how in their instagram post they put in the caption "We've heard you"

To be fair it took them 5+ years to listen and execute.

So, sadly, we're probably still in the "listening" stage of things.
I’m also gonna guess it’s either a new engine/ new breakthroughs on what they can do. But they might have been in the listening stage for a long time, we will probably not get aviaries and aquariums until the inevitable sequel.

Or maybe I’ll still be upset about the birds during the PZ2, or maybe this final dlc gives us birds. Who knows man. These next couple months are gonna be interesting for Frontier.

I haven't played the first PC and I doubt I'll play the second one, but if they decided to keep the same theme for some other theme I wouldn't complain

Holy wow. PlanCo2 is going to have SCALING!

If we get this in our final Planet Zoo update... I'm'a scream. And it works pretty similarly to the way modders have been working on it for PZ (which means it might be viable)...

EDIT: But I also need to not get myself so excited about possible features that are probably not backward compatible with the game that has my heart. LOL

The main thing I’m interested in seeing rn is what is and isn’t included from the original game. Are they gonna resell us the Adventure or Spooky packs with some of the same scenery for example (not the exact same ofc, but with some returning pieces)? Are they gonna be included in the base game and we get sequel packs? Or new packs entirely?

Mainly because I really don’t wanna wait four years to get a kiwi and a basic plant set for NZ back in a PZ2 that may or may not even happen. Am I overthinking things? Yeah. That’s what I do. Realistically they (probably) won’t resell us stuff. 🫠

But scaling ough wow... Hopefully it’ll come with squashing and stretching objects like PK’s system - I love smushing statues onto signs in that game :>

Big bruh moment for all our hard working modders
Look, if they get added formally it'll save everybody some time and encourage stability.

I'm interested with how they are going to tackle the pools and paths, making those big areas with pools and curvy paths inbetween them. Thats probably the reason they are revisiting the path system.
I'd imagine so! I said this earlier but being able to just place down a body of water in a concrete pool, splash pads, and so on would be really awesome and helpful for Planet Zoo.

Imagine being able to just place down a tank/body of water, select the walls for each side a la WTEs (concrete, plaster, glass, faux rock), and build land around it as you want rather than needing to fiddle around with the land and hope the angles are just right to fill it up correctly or whatever? That would be so helpful!

Honestly, after seeing all this I'm more enthusiastic as ever about the possibility of a Planet Zoo sequel. LOL

I get the feeling we (planet zoo players) are discussing planet coaster more than the actual planet coaster forum, it's like with jwe2 lol.
Gotta give 'em time to wind back up. I think we're all looking at it from the perspective of what it means for Planet Zoo at present and in the future.

And man, I just really hope any of that is backwards-compatible with Planet Zoo.
