DLC18 discussion and predictions

Girls&Guys, I know it sounds a bit crazy, but if...

If the "highlands" keyart, teasing Palla's Cat / Hamadryas Baboon / Markhor, was just the first clue for a bigger thing ?

They said something like "stay tuned for news in a couple of weekS" (the "S" is important). Imagine next week we have a teaser, with a same-style keyart, but now in a rainforest theme, with (just examples) Coati / Goodfellow’s Tree Kangaroo / Black Howler Monkey, and next week a new teaser in an "grassland" theme (Secretary Bird / Patagonian Mara / Grey Crowned Crane), and next week, etc.

For a BIGGER final pack, like "World Tour Animal Pack" ? 👀

Let me dream please...
I hate to break it to you but you're not the first person to come up with this theory! It's an interesting one...seems a bit labour-intensive (art costs 💰) but we'll see, we'll see...hopefully sooner rather than later!

I keep having these two thoughts that go round and round in my head:
1. That the theme of this DLC will be something we somehow haven't thought of yet, and
2. That can't be possible because surely over the last 600+ pages we've thought of every possible iteration of DLC under the sun. Haven't we? Haven't we?

Made this theory like the day teaser released, it got massively debunked because it sounded ludicrous

Primate time!!!
For the New world and Old world monkeys we have, they sorta have a weird grouping thing going on with them. The one new world monkey we have is like one of the most standard NWMs ever, like how many people (not animal/zoo nerds) think of a capuchin when they imagine a new world monkey (or just a monkey if they have no idea there are different groups of monkeys) due to Night at the Museum? We have zero unique or “special” monkeys from the Americas.

And then for the Old World monkeys, we have all these unique and exotic species: The colorful mandrill, which for a while was the only OWM in Africa. And then the Japanese Macaque, the most northerly non-human primate, and it's associated with snow and hot springs unlike other primates, and it was also the only Asian monkey until the next monkey to be added, the Proboscis monkey, probably one of the weirdest animals we have in game, it has a big ol' nose, webbed digits, it has a pot-belly, is bright orange, and is pretty rare in captivity. And now the fourth OWM we're getting is the Hamadryas baboon, a sun bleached, terrestrial monkey that has this very awesome hairdo.

So what we need in terms of monkeys is at least two more NWMs, one of which is one of the more unique, highly requested species (howler and spider), and the other can be whatever really. And for the old world, at least one or two normal, typical monkeys, ideally, one for Africa and one for Asia. Macaques, langurs, or colobus monkeys come to mind for me.

And for the rest of the primates, one special lemur would be cool, like an Aye-aye or a sifaka, but it's not pressing at all if we don't get them (personally I'd love them, but I understand we don't need them). Lesser apes are all good, we have the largest gibbon and one of the smallest gibbons, one is pretty typical and the other has a unique feature. And for the great apes, we have one of each of them, we don't need new species, but we could use new behaviors and interactions for them, to represent their intelligence and their sociality, plus maybe a fur rework for the orangutan. The only primates that don't have any representation are tarsiers and lorises, but there isn't that much of a demand for them, and it wouldn't surprise me if they were a WTE animal due to their size and arboreal nature.

These are my thoughts on our relatives, just wanted to share :)
(originally this comment of mine was just about how weird it was how our in-game monkey rep was set up, but I got carried away, and I rewrote some stuff, so sorry for any weird grammar!)

Can’t believe we might only get 1 but if you had to choose just 1 South American animal to get in the next pack, what would it be?
Definitely has to be a monkey I think, any would be great but Geoffroy's spider monkey (which isn't South American but from LATAM nonetheless), black-capped squirrel monkey or any of golden lion, emperor or cotton-top tamarin would be my personal preferences.

Bro, it’s just a highland pack. That guy said he would dress in drag and do the hula if it wasn’t.

Did you say.. Any?

Tufted Capuchin enters the Arena
honestly, even that. Seriously. ANY second monkey for South/Central America would be a 100% increase to the roster. I mean, I'd love more, I certainly have my favorites and ones I'd rather not see, but at the very least we'd have two LA monkeys to look at not just one.

I already mentioned the babies issue before. But in terms of it being the largest mainland tortoise, their average size range is actually pretty similar to the brown-throated sloth. If a walkthrough exhibit can hold multiple of those, a sulcata tortoise lawn seems very feasible.
Let's not pretend habitat-viable animals haven't been in exhibits since day one either
Honestly with iguanas being stuck as exhibit animals, I'm not really sure what the criteria are for something to be a habitat animal.
every single argument you provide against the tortoise is null and void since we already have 2 tortoises that are even slower and the same size as the spurred.
The sloth was only an exhibit animal because it cant / doesnt walk on the ground which ruins the whole habitat system granted being slow doesnt help but it was primarily based on its movement patterns not including the ground.

iguanas being exhibits are the biggest crime frontier has ever committed and again it was because of movement climbing reptiles still havent been done yet and there was no way they were doing it in the base game.
Also keep in mind whilst the walkthrough exhibit fixes all movement based issues it is a garbage habitat since they are always a fixed size and much larger than would be necessary for a tortoise.
