So if we get a Safari Pack, I think it's possible to get one that's both a 10/10 by my tastes, and within modern Frontier's limits:
- Grey-Crowned Crane (mascot)
- Bat-Eared Fox
- Honey Badger
- Masai Giraffe
- Nile Crocodile
- Red-Flanked Duiker (lives in Sahelian savannahs rather than rainforest)
- Vervet Monkey (if we can't get yet another NWM, we can at least get a new OWM niche filled)
"Why no secretary bird or shoebill?" Grey-crowned cranes would be much easier for Frontier to pull off at this point, and I want to keep my expectations realistic. The crane is more widely-kept anyway. In an ideal world, of course we would get both.
As for why no serval or Grevy's zebra, I'm a hypocrite who actively doesn't want those despite rooting for a croc, giraffe, and fox. I have no excuse for the fox beyond personal bias - it's in my name afterall. But for the croc and giraffe, we still only have one true member each of those groups, unlike small cats and equids. We're nearly 6 years into support and can only go for Oceanian/Asian sections if we want to build a crocodile exhibit.
Gerenuk is a great choice too, I just rather the duiker.
