I'm not saying more packs are guaranteed, but I don't see the release of JWE3 as a sign to end PZ. I mean, by that logic PZ would have ended 2021, when JWE2 came out. And actually, when the main game is finished and they only pump out DLCs and some updates, I'd say they don't need more but technically less people on JWE.

And a good sale might actually give them the money to hire more people again.

As I said, none of that is guaranteed. But an india pack is the absolute weirdest spot to end support and while I also think Zookeeper was meant to be the last, sure they would manage to do a good "fan favourite pack" as the last pack still, including the Coati, maybe the Grey Crowned Crane, things like that, ya know.

First of all, releasing the game months after the release of the new movie makes me think they don't want to rush it after what happened with PC2. The timing is super weird, right? Something went wrong there, I'm telling you. I absolutely expected a summer release. And with Novembre you can't even argue that it was meant to be their typical end of the year november release like usual.

I already decide a long time im not buying pz2 even if its half the price (it wont be) i spent away to much money in pz1 im not going to pay to have the same animals. But 40 only??? yeah not even in black friday i would get it

I'm gonna be honest, if PZ2 doesn't have all the animals that we have now, it would be a massive turn down for me.

Yes JWE3 won't has all the animals, but in this case it's understandable cuz they need to add an additional model for all the 122 animals, and another one for some of them. But in PZ case i don't se a single, non-predatory reason to not add everyone again.

For me it will depend which animals get cut. Also which animals get brought back, should they get cut.

There are animals I would be fine with not seeing again and animals I would wait for (and pay for) to see upgraded.

All this goes without saying, that this sacrifice is only acceptable if it's done to bring grand new features in base game.

Like if we don't get full PZ roster back in base game, we better get both aviaries and aquariums with playable rosters respectively.

Otherwise I'll probably wait till the game is in satisfying enough state to buy. After all I waited until Europe pack release to buy PZ

Same, though I'm fine if they don't add all the animals at release, but they get added in with updates and such :)

Well see, look at Zoo Tycoon 1 and 2. Both games had completely rosters. But what brought people to ZT2 were the new features. Similarly, PlanZo 2 would and should have new features to bring players to it, like aviaries and aquariums, maybe a Zookeeper mode?

Having the full roster at launch feels like a bad move, actually. Because then what DLCs could they release if all the stars are already in-game?

The fact that 100+ animals require significant updating just to bring them up to the current quality is a reason. Not to mention potential updates to all animals for things like hit boxes, climbing mechanics, swimming, etc. That takes a ton of resources and time.

We all want as many animals back as possible. We also want fixes to a lot of current issues. We also want new, updated features. If PZ2 is releasing end of next year that gives Frontier only so much time to implement all these things. Ditching 20-50 animals off the roster so they are able to have enough resources to make all the improvements may well just be the trade-off they need to make, and I find that perfectly understandable.

To be clear I side with you here on monarchs being introduced simply because they can only survive on invasive plants.
However self introduction and vagrancy is part of the process towards something becoming native to the area like barn owls in new zealand when something naturally and completely unassisted forms a breeding population in an area its usually grounds for native status in my eyes as its just part of the natural movement of life.

Also the iucn among the many weird choices it makes has decided that monarch are native to australia because of this and is what the game goes off.

ZT1 and 2 had an actually an better reason why the roster was different: the game went to 2D mesh to a 3D one, that's the roster changed. Meanwhile Frontier sequels so far keep the cobra engine. So tecnical jump don't seem a reason.

Aquarium and aviaries animals, i can see they puting orcas and bald eagles being dlc locked.

Also, animals such as tree roos and coatis.

Honestly, most animals that actually needs updates are those in the base game that certainly will be there (a zoo game without lions, hyenas and bears won't looks good) or are a easy fix (the donkey and devils sound), the only exception being the rhea.

And being also honest, i can't think on many groundbreaking mechanics that would need late animals to need more time to be polished. Most thinks we want affwct all animals equally anyway.

where is everyone getting the JWE3 species number from I see nothing confirming or denying any species besides whats in the trailer. Also I was totally expecting november like every other cms game I wonder why they pulled it back to october

Also implication that all the hybrids will return, but they won't be able to breed.

With that voice of reason you brought back a tiny bit of believe and trust in this community for me.

And lets not forget, Frontier needs to hold some beloved animals pack to sell DLCs that will surely also include brand new animals. And no, the scraps that are on the meta wishlist will not sell enough DLCs to support a new game for several years.

I like how there’s gonna be atvs as opposed to the full Jeep
I was bummed that the biosyn helicopters were not the same ones from the movie
Maybe this JWE will have exhibits, I know prehistoric planet is doing something along the lines
I had hopes for PK but I can’t get the camera to cooperate in the same style as JWE and PZ no matter how I try to change the controls (if anyone can help me I’d super appreciate it as I’ve asked on other forums and nobody helps me)
