That's a killer pack. I rather get 3 ibises at once (Scarlet, Northern bald ibis and what ever other You guys like) than four penguins and 2 flamingos as the only birds we get in the Spawn of 6 years.

Heck of a dream. I really only want scarlet ibis as I haven’t heard too many requests for others. Golden pheasant fits in perfectly. If frontier wants to be lazy they could go with the Barbary macaque or do us right and give us geladas. I can’t accept another gibbon as they didn’t do lar or siamang right, plus I never hear demand for the other gibbons.I had a dream last night that the next Planet Zoo DLC had a roster like this:
The rest was there, but they also weren’t at the same time. Basically the community was torn up over all the ibis in one pack. Especially because the ibis couldn’t use any of the climbing frames (in my dream they couldn’t “perch”) and that was splitting the community. Some saw it as a step in the right direction and maybe the next ibis will fix this issue, while others saw it as a glaring oversight.
- Ibis #1
- Ibis #2
- Ibis #3
- Pheasant?
- Monkey\ Gibbon
Aquariums are just as better than aviaries, in my opinion. Also, which river shark do you mean?Parrots are more of a domestic pet, but just like the Axolotl they're pretty common in zoos, but nah, Aquariums are better than aviaries imao.
Some animals that could go along with the aquariums:
Blacktip Reef Shark
Spotted Eagle Ray
Manta Ray
Whale Shark
Japanese Spider Crab
Cownose Stingray
Giant Pacific Octopus
Largetooth Sawfish
Pufferfish
Clownfish
Assorted Reef Fish
Lionfish
Orca + Orca Shows
Dolphin + Dolphin Shows
Manatee
Arapaima
Alligator Gar
Goliath Tigerfish
Assorted Cichlids
Black Diamond Stingray
River Shark
Greater Siren
Giant Freshwater Pufferfish
Something missing from the California Sea Lion are sea lion shows but they don't have to add it if they don't want to.
An exhibit animal that I want but is completely unrelated to aquariums is the Desert Rain Frog, a type of frog native to South Africa that produces a squeak when threatened and does not produce tadpoles.
Personally id really like the northern bald ibis/waldrapp. Pretty big conservation efforts going on for these in european zoo. And it would be a bird that actually feels like a zoo animal, rather than an ambient one like the swanHeck of a dream. I really only want scarlet ibis as I haven’t heard too many requests for others. I really don't see an "early" DLC being in the cards. This has been said a few times now but if they were shooting for the summer then they wouldn't have said "later this year" in the last livestream. They could have said "in a few months" or "in the summer" or "coming soon." All that could have signaled something coming up.So tomorrow is the next unlocked. Personally I think they are only gonna talk about the next upcoming bundle. However, if JWE3 is coming out (especially with the new movie coming out) I can see another DLC being announced “early”.
The only thing is I can’t keep doing this same old song and dance, it felt like for the last 4 DLCs we have all thought it was the end only for it to not be. I guess we will find out once the news of the next DLC drops.
I have to say I really wish zoos wouldn’t do this. If you can’t feature the actual species then don’t structure an exhibit around them. This is historic for me to say....so feel free to save this post!
There's an African Antelope that I'd like to see in the game.
Our local zoo is opening up Leopard Forest next month, featuring an Amur leopard. There's also a few other African animals being include near the leopard habitat as part of the forest, which is a great example of real life using the Amur leopard as a stand in for the African Leopard.
Any obligate freshwater shark will do but the Speartooth River Shark in Australia is what I'm thinking of.Aquariums are just as better than aviaries, in my opinion. Also, which river shark do you mean?
Yeah I was figuring that would be the case, but I can also see PZ stopping development a bit before JWE3 drops.I really don't see an "early" DLC being in the cards. But "later this year" heavily implies the next DLC being at least a full season away (plus: they used the same language last year at the time the Barnyard pack dropped).
Personally I want aviaries more, simply because most zoos have them. I have been to many zoos with fish, but not many have full sized aquariums. The exhibit box can easily work as a stand in for fish tanks, the leafy sea dragon, lumpsucker, and African lung fish mods show as much.Aquariums are just as better than aviaries, in my opinion. There is still no stand in for aviaries, outside of the WTE which Frontier won’t use for flying birds (anyone’s guess is as good as mine). Yes GreatCakes has made custom animations to allow birds to fly, which is amazing and well scratch the itch a lot of people have been looking for. However, Frontier also doesn’t seem like they are gonna commit to adding custom flying tied to enrichment items.
So long story short, if recreating or making a zoo I feel the loss of birds way more than the loss of fish.
To be fair, the whole Leopard Forest isn't even open yet. I'm connecting previous discussions here to zoos using Amur Leopards instead of African Leopards in real life, but there's no actual evidence they're doing this in my local zoo. Just a possibility at this point. When I do go (sometime in July probably since it opens June 20th and it is summer/kids out of school), I'll be sure to give a follow up to what they're doing exactly. And you're right in that it can be confusing and actually mis-educational if they're not actually presenting the Amur Leopard as the Amur Leopard. Which, given the email newsletter specifically said it's the Amur Leopard, I would assume they'll also stick to that specific educational information.I have to say I really wish zoos wouldn’t do this. It’s terrible from an educational perspective. How do you seriously expect people to understand and appreciate the situation of Amur leopards, their habitat and role when they are cosplaying as African leopards?
I’m not suggesting that they will present the Amur leopard as an African, I am saying that the context - in an African themed area alongside exclusively African species - is problematic. They are little more than props in this environment. To be fair, the whole Leopard Forest isn't even open yet. There are plenty of good ones left. I think most of us just wanted a few packs between the next one. Kudu, elands, and gerenuks are still pretty popular. A few people talk about waterbucks, impala, and duikers sometimes. Greater kudu are actually my favorite antelopes, so I'd kind of like to see them despite knowing that additional monkeys and birds would be way more useful. There's an African Antelope that I'd like to see in the game.
You just mentioned all the african antelopes i would happily welcome. I also like bonteboks and hartebeasts because they are different enough from what we have. There are plenty of good ones left. There’s never bad animals to add, only Frontier using them at the wrong time or making weird pack compositions. I don’t mind getting another antelope, I just think it depends on how the rest of the pack looks. There are plenty of good ones left. I think most of us just wanted a few packs between the next one.
