DLC20 Discussion (maybe, but why not?)

My work laptop is broken so I did this.

A 12-animal finale pack just for us superfans. I think there is something for everyone here? With the ABB as a bonus anniversary animal. This is a kickass pack if I do say so myself and even if these are not all my personal favourites.

The hare is in last position because that last spot could be highly debated, but with zero lagomorphs in the game I think there is a good argument for having it, even if it's not at the top of many wishlists.

Think of the mods we could get with the hare, the duck, the turtle and the pelican in the game!

Cranes are slower and move more methodically. Secretary birds are far more limber and need very different animations from a crane. Especially ones where they're using their feet. Even as simple as running a very different from crane movement, it's almost like they go into a torpedo shape

Their necks are also notably shorter than that of a crane. Not to mention proportionately massive legs.

Well looking at this I know at least half of these guys are in my top 25 right now so yeah this works

no tomistoma though add that as a second anniversary animal alongside the abb since this is the last update (copium)

without a dounbt, this would be my favorite pack. Coati, Blackbuck, secretary bird, pelican, a duck and even more new world monkeys? perfection.

Gimme this! I want this! Where can I get this? There is just the turtle that I don't care about but the reste is fire.

Swap the hare for a Patagonian mara (the rodent that convergently evolved hare-like features and is both high on the wishlist and extremely common in zoos).

I think the only reasonable theme left where we could get coati and mara would be Shrublands. Honestly I'd be pretty down to see a return to biome packs, temperate and coastal could still work well too.

I think another Asian pack be that South Asia or East Asia could be pretty good and there's always going to be a ton of options for a Safari Pack too.

Personally hoping for a rainforest animal pack for DLC 20:
1. Black Headed Spider Monkey
2. Mantled Guereza
3. East Javan Langur
4. South American Coati
5. White Faced Whistling Duck
6. Saddle Billed Stork
7. Victoria Crowned Pigeon

Is a pack with this theme likely? No. Would it end up with a roster like this? If recent packs are anything to go off than absolutely not. But I would be overjoyed if we got this pack

Here's a conversation topic I think needs to be addressed:

So every continent got a pack from 2020-2021 and starting from 2022 we got biome packs and a few miscellaneous ones.

Now since 2023 we have gotten a few continent "revisit" packs.
Australia > Oceania
Europe/Asia > Eurasia
North/South America > Americas

However there is one pack that is a bit of an outlier, Arid. This pack obviously is the one connecting to the desert biome but it also infamously has a completely African roster and many people do see it as "Africa 2". The question is if Frontier sees it this way and does Arid's existence make a revisit to Africa (like a safari pack, which lets face it would probably be exclusively African, sorry blackbuck...) unlikely?

Honestly I am not sure, I think this could be a pretty strong theme but there was quite a backlash to Arid on release.

Well, now that we have DLC 19 coming...here's my thoughts for what is almost certainly going to be the final pack (but I've also been saying that for two years so who knows). Theme is simply around the world or global in nature - in other words, a collection of animals. There's several scenarios I'll lay out here from my most ideal to least. Lower effort animals marked with a * as there will certainly be a mix in here.

All of these could have an urban building/set coming as the anniversary "gift" or included with the pack, but for a higher cost. I just didnt' want to reiterate that every single time.

nearly double sized finale pack of 12 animals, no building theme. Maybe an urban/city building set for the final anniversary? cost is bumped up here, or if a building set is included it could be twice the total cost.
