DLC20 Discussion (maybe, but why not?)

So I would be very shocked if we got an island DLC. The American Flamingo I thought was the last sign to think “it’s over for that idea”.
I wouldn't... did you even see what we got in the Americas pack? It was not a lot of high effort... and the headliner was the Coyote... and of course there was the farm pack; an animal pack with five 0 vote animals. At this point, I wouldn't assume anything is automatically beyond doable because of a lack of popular animals.

What is everyones most wanted habitat animal for each of these groups now?

Carnivorans - South American Coati
Ungulates - Reeves' Muntjac
Primates - Guianan Squirrel Monkey
Other Mammals - Rock Hyrax
Birds - White Stork
Reptiles - Argentine Black-and-White Tegu
Carni: Coati
Ungulates: Blackbuck
Primates: Howler monkey
Other mammals: Echidna
Birds: Pelican
Reptiles: Nile crocodile

Now that we have:
  • South America / North America/ Americas packs
  • Australia / Oceania
  • Europe / Eurasia
I could see us getting:
  • South East Asia / Eurasia / Asia pack
An Asia pack could bring:
  1. Reeve's muntjac
  2. Yak
  3. Blackbuck
  4. Himalayan monal
  5. Yellow throated marten
  6. Tanuki
  7. Grey langur
How about a polar animal pack? Animals from both the North and South Pole? :p

If more "complicated" animals are not happening I could see us getting a Safari Animal Pack without the secretary bird.

I think something like this would honestly be pretty likely:
  1. Bat-Eared Fox
  2. Greater Kudu
  3. Grey Crowned Crane
  4. Helmeted Guineafowl
  5. Honey Badger
  6. Nile Crocodile
  7. Serval
A lot of clones but honestly I would take this, the crane and guineafowl in particular would be amazing and the rest are all decent picks.
Oh now this is a killer lineup. I'd prefer a dwarf or slender-snouted crocodile over the Nile, but this would be an incredible pack.

If they could work in a monkey (in place of either the badger or crocodile) it would be an 11/10.

That’s not a bad way of looking at it, I guess I’m still in the “we are gonna see” stage.
Yep... also, I'm pretty sure there's actually quite a few popular island animals left... this one's just of the top of my head:
  • Japanese Raccoon Dog
  • Musk-Ox
  • Southern Rockhopper Penguin
  • Hawaiian Goose
  • Cuban Crocodile
  • Aye-Aye
  • Tree Kangaroo

I think you cant really blame barnyard for not going of the wishlist. It was more about the concept of petting zoos rather than any specific animal. And the concept was pretty requested since launch

I can blame it plenty... if the goal was a petting zoo, why didn't they go with the popular petting zoo animals, like the Dwarf Goat, Shetland Pony, Pot-Bellied Pig or Flemish Rabbit? You know, things that people were actually asking for and would have totally worked?

I don't think there are 7 polar animals left that could be realistic in a pack.
Common eider, arctic hare, musk ox, Pacific walrus, rockhopper penguin, elephant seal/leopard seal, and maybe a sea otter? :D

but yeah not the most easiest of animal to think of, but hey there is still something :D

I think you could do an interesting polar pack in theory. Like walrus and musk ox would be enough for most people to buy it.
Fill that one up with an antarctic penguin, arctic hare, puffin, eider and another seal and you would have your pack.

But if the new pack is anything to go by i dont think this would be in the cards production budget wise

Sure i agree, but those also werent anywhere near the top of the wishlist.

Ughh a safari pack could be one of my favorites with the right choices…

Or y’know it could just be a nightmare pack lol.

So I had a thought (and it may already be on here but it's a thought I had now). we know that PZ's team is reduced and that effort isnt' what it was even 2 years ago. And it's likely that the AAP wasn't planned, so it was all lower effort animals.

What if pack 20 was 4 solidly high effort animals and a substantial scenery set? What would you pick? For me it's definitely:
Tree Kangaroo species
Coati species
Mandarin Duck
Secretary Bird

No exhibit animals. No clone animals. All fairly distinct from what we've got now. and four animals just like the Arctic DLC was.

I don't know what the theme would be called, but perhaps if they even took something like Arboreal Pack and gave us the Tree Kangaroo, Coati, Spider Monkey and another effort intense arboreal animal....that's another thought.

I think a pack like this would really be a huge hit, even if it was less animals.
