Depends on what ones sees as an alternative i suppose.
In the original 4+1+ scenery sense? No, they specifically said it to be animal pack.
Although id assume that means the new style of animal pack that has like 80 ish pieces
Base game animals without alternatives: Aardvark, Okapi, Giraffe, Gorilla (Apes), Chinese Pangolin
Some are iffy like red panda (do you count raccoon as alternative?), Peafowl (chicken?)
And of course exhibits: New Iguana, New Spider, New snail, New scorpion at least

Not exactly sure how you'd make "alternatives" for these. Both are quite unique, all things considered

I mean, the elephant's literally on the key art and the in the page source. They seem pretty committed to selling us another elephant.
I would like to state that Indonesia not being unilaterally considered part of Asia is news to me, and reiterate that geographical education in US schools was absolutely abysmal 20 years ago and I can only assume it's gotten much worse since.
I guess you aren't teaching that countries can be on more than one continent? Which is ironic given that the US holds territories outside North America. Russia is all Europe up to Vladivostok, Turkey is either fully European or fully Asian, and so on?

That's where the subjective issue comes into play, because zebra alternatives could be any horse (somali wild-ass, donkey etc.) and we have had a lot of bears, even black bears (sloth bear, spectacled bear, sunbear).Also the zebras and black bear

Thank you @FoxyDeeYeah, that is exactly how I felt last time when people were hating on the Coyote. I really understand that some animal choices are unpopular. Yes, it could have been something else. Yes, we can let Frontier know that. But using degrodatory terms for the animal itself just feels weird to me on a personal level. I feel like it was a bit worse with the coyote, but I skipped some pages on here, so maybe I missed alot regarding the elephant.
I have to admit that I would prefer Sri Lanka Elephant, because I think it would look more distinctive, but I am sure that once I will see the new elephant on screenshot, I will like it alot, Frontier can do amazing details on animal skin nowdays. I am very curious about it.
I know it feels very demotivating to see all the hate on an animal that you are looking forward to. I will cheer on the elephant with you.
I was feeling a bit oversensitive yesterday haha. I'll just ignore the haters from now on. I appreciate the support
