I have the lifetime expansion pass. So getting a Steam key shouldn't result in any loss for Frontier, right?
So FD won't lose anything if you get a key. They'll simply gain 30% less if you buy any additional in-game content.
Not buying skins from FD anyway - I find the whole concept silly.
I have no intention of bogging down my resources with a completely unnecessary program in the background.
Good, as I don't plan on buying any of those. If you get a Steam key, then from that point on Steam will get a cut of any in-game stuff you purchase in future, e.g. paint jobs. Your lifetime DLCs are already bought and paid for, so to speak.
Steam won't get a cut of any physical merchandise, such as cups, keyrings and T-shirts.

If you read Frontier's quotes from the first post of this thread, you will see that Valve DO get a cut (probably 30%) when you buy DLC from Frontier's store IF you have linked you account to Steam.I would have thought if you bought through there website and not through steam and steam payment system then valve don't get a cut?
Crap! Is there any way to un-link my Valve and Frontier accounts?
I'd never noticed that Unlink link before. Clicked it, it appears my account is no longer linked to Steam, and on the Partner Keys link on my FD account page, it shows this so it looks like it can be linked again in the future if you ever want to.There is an unlink option in Frontier's website, in your account information , but I m not sure what it does. Is there anyone here to clarify what this unlink option do? I want to purchase the lifetime pass but I don't want to give a share to Valve.
