I was doing some heavy trading this weekend in a Python. Because it's a Python, obviously I can't outrun most pirates.
I wasn't running any shields, didn't have any weapons (well, I left the 2 default lasers, but that would only further upset an NPC), and using default hull (the hull upgrades are so expensive, meh).
As a result, it means I'm pretty much a sitting duck in case of pirate attack.
The solution I found, is to drop to start menu, and log back in, when I see that I'm about to get interdicted. I don't *always* make it in time (sometimes they attack before I have any speed in SC), in which case I immediately submit and boost until I can jump out, but that usually guarantees 5-20% hull damage depending on the intensity of their attack.
The drop to start menu also has the added benefit of not seeing any NPC pirates for a decent while (usually), which is nice.
Anyone else do this? BTW, I play in Private w/ Moebius group, PVE-only, so it's only NPC pirates that I'm worried about w/ this setup.
TL;DR - I'm logging off before interdiction even begins. So it's not combat logging. And it's not an exploit, as defined by FDev, as I'm logging out using the in-game mechanism. This is all because I was in a kit w/ no shields, no weps, not configured for combat at all.
It's discussed many times in the thread due to others not actually reading my thread and subsequent posts...
Also, I'm only doing this against NPCs in a PvE-only group.
