Does anyone with access to a cutter use a Type 9?

I use both as CSVs (Carrier Support Vessels)...

My Type-9 is high-volume Cargo and well-protected for a "Cow". But it's still a Type-9, only so much Engineering and Outfitting can do. It's supposed to get Cargo in or out of the Carrier in normal places.

My Cutter has a similar role but carries less Cargo due to its heavy-duty protection.
Its role is to successfully on/offload Cargo even in the most hostile environments, for which is carries massive Shielding and Armour/HRPs/MRPs.
It can go to places where no Cargo Type-9 would ever dare to enter.

If this were X I would use the Type 9 as a fleet of cargo haulers and the Cutter as fast patrol vessels for OOS combat.

Good times

I own a T9 and use it to haul cargo, I do not own a Cutter (even though I could, if I wanted - it would sit in the hanger next to the Imperial Clipper, Imperial Courier and Imperial Eagle - the last looks at least nearly like a proper ship, if you remove nacelles and spoiler)

Only a moron would use the Type-9
Hello, I'm your local moron - and my IQ has 3 digits and no decimal point - how are your knuckles dragging these days?
A Type-9 should not have a paper hull
Paper hull?
Are you sure?

That's my T-9 for hauling... not exactly paper... Maybe you've not tried one 🤷‍♂️

I’ve got a Cutter somewhere, at some point I had three or four, but it’s just not for me beyond an occasional change up. The T9 just feels right. By which I mean; heavy, slow, grubby, utilitarian and a bit of a struggle. I like the feeling I should don some overalls when I climb in.

Having said it’s a struggle I still haven’t lost an npc interdiction in it since the first few flights (though I think VR helps immensely with tracking the mini game marker, it’s prone to dropping way out of sight in a way that rarely happens with other ships.) I do have a reinforced hi-cap prismatic knocking around somewhere for it too, it just doesn’t get used much.
I‘ve been chased a few times by Cmdrs trying to catch my shieldless T9 but a weather eye and a high wake system dialled in is usually good enough...if/when I get caught out then it will have more than covered the rebuy cost - besides, we really do need to check those escape pod hatches are working every now and then.:)

Just approaching and leaving a station is a waste of time in a Heavy Type-9 compared to an Imperial Cutter. I keep my T9 mostly out of sentimentality and as a module storage.

I have 2 cutters....And ALWAYS I use my T9 for PP and trade. ( in Open )

I like the T9, I like how players want to interdict you and gank u when u r flying a T9...Its a lot of fun lol

Never see a T9 Rebuy screen in Open...( Well, sometimes without shields and 50% hull but....hahahah )
