Does someone have an optimal build for a supercharged FSD ship?

Does someone have an optimal build for using a supercharged FSD? I am thinking you'd need fuel tanks, because it eats fuel, heatsinks to cool down the heat damage and something to repair modules and hull. Plus it'd have to be the right ship.

I guess optimising for cold running in supercruise will help too. My initial instinct is that it was designed around the cold AX meta.

Is there a limit how far rewards will scale with supercruise distance? 😅

1. Slap one of these bad boys (FSD SCO) in
2. Add heat sinks
3. Fill all internal modules with additional fuel tanks
4. Do data runs to outposts very, very, veeeeery far out
5. PROFIT

It's a very narrow use case, but no conventional ship would come close.

Having a cold ship makes no difference. Heatsinks don't negate the heat sufficiently unless you turn the boost off. It devours fuel, so fuel tanks would help, but you'd have to sacrifice a lot of internal modules to make up for the consumption rate. Definitely lives up to being a prototype.

It's cool though, and quite fun.

EDIT: For some reason heatsinks weren't working for me when I was testing originally but now they do, so my comment on them doesn't stand.

New speed records to hutton orbital and other far out locations is one use. Looks like quick boosts of a few seconds vs just toggle it on is the way to go. Too much heat and fuel consumption to just leave it on.

This'll make CGs interesting...

If you're overcharging in a single system it doesn't need that much fuel so auxiliary fuel tanks are overkill.
heat sinks possibly though there doesn't seem to be any indicator as to when the overcharger is cooled down, it seems to be slightly behind the hull.

Sadly, it does not appear as though you can engineer the SCO Drive.

At least currently . . . .

Parked at Deciat, and the option to engineer is not available.

. . . . I was thinking Shielded with Thermal Spread :-(

The Guardian FSD range booster does increase range though.
