TIL that suggesting someone kill themselves is a rational response to a civil comment on the internet.
When someone is dying of cancer, I say let them say whatever they want. You can’t imagine the suffering he’s going through. I’ve seen it happen to family members.
Hey,
I just wanted to step in and leave a quick post.
I understand that players are upset by the actions that have been taken. It's important to know that we are also upset and do not condone the actions of people trying to tarnish a fantastic and worthwhile community event. However, I would also say that calling out members of the community team as not being bothered is also very unfair.
Paige was the person that took the concept and worked with development to try and support a fantastic community initiative. She is equally as invested in the success of this voyage as the hundreds of Commanders taking part.
I understand that emotions can run high when actions are taken in such a way. But please do understand that this and the many other memorials that exist throughout the galaxy are a way of Frontier and the team celebrating and supporting the community to give them a permanent in game reminder of their loved ones. We are very pleased to be able to add these memorials in game as we feel this small service is of great value and comfort to those who have lost friends or family.
I think that by trying to shine a light on this issue, you are misunderstanding the level of thought and consideration that goes into making memorials like this possible and the care that the whole team have for our community.
On this specific issue, as many people have mentioned, if the shut down has happened because a player has used legitimate game mechanic then we would be looking (and supporting) Commanders using in-game mechanics to reverse this.
We are currently investigating to ensure that this was indeed done through legitimate in game means and not an exploit as well as other comments made from the Community. We will let you know once we have finished investigating the issue. In the meantime, could I ask that we remain considered in our responses and please refrain from directly targeting any member of staff for a game related decision.
Many thanks,
Zac
I stopped reading here.
Don't tell me what to do!
The Drink Bleach comment is a figure of speech. One that is likely lost on those under 40, but that was Dove E's point.
Silly you and all the others who took that literally. It simply means.... Sod off! You don't get it, go away!
My remark about choosing something even more toxic was to simply put double underlines under the actual intent.
Hope that clears things up for you?

I have Colonia's traffic report for Sunday recorded as 550ish, which is fairly typical for weekends ever since 2.4 was released. Nothing unusually high, anyway.I arrived at Colonia from the bubble on Sunday evening after 3 days travel. It is my 4th trip out here in the last months and i used following waypoints: Rohini, Skaudai, Gandharvi, Kashyapa. I always check for traffic and realised something strange.
There was an unusual high traffic report, including a Type-10. Since i am in a PG i might have followed them without realising. I landed at the ship yesterday and it was still fine.
UAs need to be collected individually (which isn't slow, but isn't "buy all" fast either), and are corrosive so you can only safely haul 2 per internal, maybe slightly more if you're careful. So maybe 25 per ship, probably more like 20. MAs can be bought in bulk and transported normally, so 500 or more per ship. Even divided by 5 that's still at least a 4:1 balance in favour of the defenders - in this case you can't just use the raw tonnage as a measure.Wait a minute, so not only does this mechanic completely render a station unusable, it's tilted 5ish to 1 in favor of offense?
:| That's some great game design, lou.
MAs are safe. No ill-effects whatsoever. UAs are what you’re thinking. How they got enough out there is a mystery to me.Question for the experts, I was under the impression MA's wreck a ship unless fitted with 2 tonne corrosive racks. Thats means 18 tonnes maximum on a Cutter, how does someone haul enough of those MA's to cause a ship 26,000Lys away to potentially shut down?

On that scale one or a few commanders UA-bombing wouldn't even be a rounding error (and the T-10, with its relatively poor jump range, would be a terrible ship to try UA-bombing Colonia with - they'll almost certainly have used Anacondas for the combination of high jump range and high internal count ... but then, lots of people round here use Anacondas)
Having been a part of this community for three years, I've transitioned from despising the antics of groups like Smiling Dog Crew to realizing that they're the only ones who truly realize that they're playing a video game.
When there's a doxxing threat or even actual doxxing, it's from a salty PvEer.
When combat logging is being defended, it's by a salty PvEer.

When the discussion moves to RL threats, it's from a salty PvEer.
When there are calls for bans and KOS lists, it's from a salty PvEer.
Not all or even most PvEers do this, of course... but between those who have gotten gud and those who have gotten salty, it's clear who the adults are.

With all due respect, you guys put a black market on a deep space research vessel. That decision deserves every ounce of criticism and hostility it recieves.Hey,
