Dove Enigma UA bombed, preventing completion of its voyage in time for the man it was named for.

Frontier should be defending the man this event is based on, not its players' rights to use certain mechanics.

Amen to that. They need to remember this isn't some guy roleplaying the situation he's in.

God damn, this event (and thread) reminds me why I took a break from Elite, and the forums.

And amen to that. I had forgotten how this community had festered.

FDev need to decide what they want the reputation of this game to be really and act on it. Bit stunned by their response - even if the cmdr's hauling MA now succeed it risks looking like they played the situation for publicity.

Back into the void I think.

People defending this should feel ashamed of themselves.

Meanwhile, the people viciously lashing out at anyone who doesn't see things precisely the way they do have much to be proud of.

Given its penchant for feeding itself, there is no limit to the power of self-righteousness, and thus it becomes unstoppable.

What fool could possibly hope to stand against UNLIMITED POWER?

Yes. All that is ever needed to counter potential UA station interference is meta alloys. How many? As many as you can carry.

Is there a source near Colonia?

Cancer is no minor matter, nor is griefing somebody with it something to trivialize or defend.

Frontier needs to lock this thread; and allow a new one to be raised. How is using a cancer patient, of all things, as a tool for attacking people, remotely acceptable? We've gone from "why UA bomb?" to "think of the cancer patient".

I tend to that said person would be appalled at this point. Holy god is anyone even listening to what they are even saying any more.

--

And I've asked repeatedly for what I can do; and I get a couple "I think deliver MA?". I have no idea where the ship is, when it's intended to leave, how much MA is needed. The attitudes here are appalling.

I'm CMDR KOFEYH in game; could whoever organised the original drive for this megaship, like send me a message or something? Please I am absolutely not going to add to this appalling display of shouting and garbage attitudes.

Good luck with your holy crusade people.

Other than shooting up barnacles for them there is literally one source in the galaxy; Darnielle's Progress (planetary port, large pads available) in Maia. So unless 22K LY is close, sadly not. :D

Also, in case people have been too busy with raging here to notice:

Greetings Commanders,

Many of you will be aware of the recent delivery of Unknown Artefacts to the Dove Enigma, a prominent charity and memorial megaship relating to the Enigma Expedition. For those who hadn’t heard, you can find out more about the Enigma Expedition here.

The team have spent their evening investigating the deliveries and they believe the use of a known exploit is possible. We take the use of exploits very seriously, and we will continue the investigation. Should there be evidence of any exploit in use, we will take appropriate action against any commanders found to be using them. The exploit believed to have been used here has already been fixed in the current 3.0 beta, and the fix should be making its way to the live game when the Beyond – Chapter One update goes live.

Many of you have asked why a black market existed on the megaship to begin with. As you know, the galaxy’s background simulation manages the states and services of stations based on the faction controlling it. Because all dockable megaships are subject to the changing tides of the galaxy sim, the memorial megaship’s owner meant the addition of a black market. However, we also understand that this event was a finish line for the Enigma Expedition and in hindsight we should have manually removed the black market for a limited time while the expedition took place. We would like to apologise to Commanders for the upset we’ve caused. As with all our in-game memorials and tributes, they are added with the very best intentions.

This evening we have been looking into whether to take steps to correct that mistake, but I’m pleased to say that won’t be necessary. Thanks to the great work of our incredible community.

The Dove Enigma is ‘Experiencing Technical Issues.’ This means interference from Thargoid Sensors has been detected and – if not countered – will result in the shutdown of some station services, but this will not happen. From our view of the galaxy we can see an overwhelming number of Commanders taking flight in one direction and with one purpose: to counter the shutdown.

With this staggering outpouring of support, we are confident that the shutdown will be averted as Commanders arrive. Lend them your support if you can, and take part in this new and unexpected chapter in the history of Elite Dangerous.

To the many Commanders that have come to the aid of the expedition as well as the hundreds of Commanders taking part in this expedition itself: thank you. Seeing the community come together to support their fellow commander and support such a good cause is amazing for all of us in the studio. We’re sorry for our oversight, and we thank you for taking to your cockpits.

What Frontier needs to do is decide whether it condones bullying or not. This is a clear case of harassment.

And the highly inflammatory group bash going on, right now, somehow isn't? Yeah, no, I am so out, 100% yolo'ing my backside out of this thread. This entire thing is just bloody awful.

I was aware, but have not been keeping tabs on Colonia (i mean who even does, now?) and wasn't sure. Thank you, Red.

Naw man, just remember there are WAY more cool people in the forums and in the game than there are tools and douchenozzels. Way more. The latter simply make more noise. So I don't want to leave the community (in game or on forum), just tune out the monkeys banging on the cymbals.

No, there is no source near Colonia I'm afraid.

And Yes, Deliver Meta Alloys is the thing you can do. The ship is in Colonia, orbiting 3A if the information I have is current

They say "we're just playing a game, you can't judge people based on their in game behaviour" - but what about their out of game behaviour?

That goes both ways, initially I had only thought less of those who had done the bombing. But when I see how people look to blame others and refuse to take responsibility by combating this in game, then it does make me wonder how they react to difficulties and hardship in their real lives, yes.

No. Use Canonn's sheet. I gave a link to a map somewhere here, just a simple visualization of systems, if that's useful.

I'll check it out. Thank you.

But I am so done with this toxic, barbaric, disgusting and god awful display of vitriolic hate. Marked the thread ignore. I'll see if I can find a not-forums way to contact the group that organised the event.

It has been stabilished that behaviour in game and on the forum/reddit/internet at large has no bearing on real life.

It's true because people who get a semi from spoiling someone else's fun in game that over and over.

Chill with the pretend outrage, duder.

No worries. I haven't been out to Colonia for a few months myself but I'm as sure as I can be that Darnielle's is still the only source. On the positive side I've just parked up there for the night and they had about 1,300 meta alloys in stock so you should be able to fill up pretty much anything you want to fly.
