Dove Enigma UA bombed, preventing completion of its voyage in time for the man it was named for.

Kofey is one of the trolls and has defended the behavior, kind of hypocritcal to say he won't add anything.

You're on the ignore list m8. I've repeatedly spent effort trying to find out how I can help; un-like Frontier, I don't have to put up with crap attitudes.

Have a good day.

Other than shooting up barnacles for them there is literally one source in the galaxy; Darnielle's Progress (planetary port, large pads available) in Maia. So unless 22K LY is close, sadly not.

Also, in case people have been too busy with raging here to notice:

Finally, some sanity.

Cheers to all the commanders who took it upon themselves to go in-game and try to do something meaningful and constructive in response to this unfortunate development, as well as Frontier for their prompt investigation and remediation.

Jeers to those who chose instead to lessly dump their emotional baggage in the forums and devote themselves to labeling as enemies those of us who may sympathetic to the cause, but not to their gratuitous, overblown and self-indulgent displays of outrage.

I suggest less anger, more reason, and more self-awareness.

Anger is the path to the Dark Side, and it is wise to remember that once we start down the dark path, forever will it dominate our destiny.

No worries. I haven't been out to Colonia for a few months myself but I'm as sure as I can be that Darnielle's is still the only source. On the positive side I've just parked up there for the night and they had about 1,300 meta alloys in stock so you should be able to fill up pretty much anything you want to fly.

I'm considering streaming a run to colonia for this. It completely throws plans I had out the window, but I am considering doing this over the next few days.

Edit: I see frontier are encouraging people to deliver MA. Okay.

That's a pretty callous response from FD. They might as well have said, "Oh well, emergent content happens. We sincerely hope the dude doesn't die before he gets to Colonia because some of our players chose to slow him down on purpose for the incredibly vile lolz. Good luck all!"

I guess they just chose to abide by their own rules, I find it genuinly hard to decide whether thar's good or bad but one thing I can say is that its not clear cut, its a moral dilema.

That'd be me =P
FInd me on Discord or Twitter if you need anything directly. All other information should be in the forum post: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...ia-for-Charity-and-for-with-CMDR-DoveEnigma13

Hi,

I am led to believe there is a ship that has been compromised by UA due to some rather nefarious deeds being done. I'd like to help.

I have been covering Frontier's beta, but am prepared to assist. I believe you are in need of just a rather large amount of MA? I can potentially leroy-jenkins a Cutter out there via neutrons, with (hopefully) hundreds of tons. Will have a look at your post; to save a bit of time, is there a time-limit for when this needs to occur by? I'm guessing "now" is good. But pays to check.

Cheers.

Edit: To save some reading; are there large pads available at the destination?

No problem. You got your extra views on twitch, it's all about the benjamins.

Naw man, just remember there are WAY more cool people in the forums and in the game than there are tools and douchenozzels. Way more. The latter simply make more noise. So I don't want to leave the community (in game or on forum), just tune out the monkeys banging on the cymbals.

And it's allowed to continue.

Right, just instead of doing that MA run you are so worried about.

It's been magi-solved already.

The expedition isn't slowed down. There's literally no negative effect on this endeavour.

I think the server tick happens on thursday, so by than would be a safe bet. But we might actually have more time then that, up to a week.

Then I guess there's not much to be said then.

Dove Enigma does have large pads.

Also, in to response to one of your previous posts, Dove Enigma is stationary and won't be leaving its orbit over Colonia A 3. The megaship is meant to mark the finish-line of the Enigma Expedition.

Oh. Right. Wait so.. wh.. I'm confused.

Edit: read the source thread. So it's a mega ship, that's not moving, and we are 2 days away from a server tick that would potentially reset it's facilities anyway? Am I missing something? Is the ship moving, or not, and what impact has the UA event actually caused? I'm not wading through 30 pages to work this out. Sorry. So if anyone can help me. :/

I'm screenshotting deadanus and Sole hunter's replies as prime examples of the lowest scum of humanity and sending it to FDev asking why this is tollerated by mods.

Sorry but you are just getting irrational here. The very bottom of humanity is much much much much much worse and I bet you know it.

From the desk of my lovely better half, Mrs Goose4291

“I’m really sorry that this man had cancer. I can’t imagine what kind of hell he has had to suffer and what life holds for him. However. Here we go. I’m now going to be regarded as somewhat contentious. He is playing an online game with hundreds of thousands of players and he is still an active participant. Here’s the controversial part: why should his illness matter? If he hadn’t told you, you wouldn’t know. It doesn’t impact his game. It might impact his commitment to the game on a long term but at the same time why should people treat him differently?
What about the special provisions put in place by frontier you say? Well they did that (and very understanding of them too) and have made it clear that any issues can be dealt with via in game mechanics.
As I said before, I’m sorry this man has cancer and I really wish him all the best. But it’s still a multiplayer online game where people can do what they like within the game’s context.

Agreed.

Don't break your arm patting yourself on the back.

No outrage here, just candid observations and yes, judgment. Beyond that, the rest is in the eye of the beholder.

But lest I be misunderstood, I don't presume to speak from a position of superior moral authority. I'm as prone to this sort of thing as anyone else, and speak from personal experience.

My point is that the solution to disgusting behavior is not more disgusting behavior.

For those so consumed by their own anger that they are blind to everything else, the way out is not more anger. Instead, the first step is recognizing the nature of the problem and sincerely committing to solving it. From there, the way inevitably becomes clear -- eventually, if not immediately.

I propose that as a better course of action than fulminating, stewing in one's own juices and blaming everyone but themselves for not resolving their own personal issues.

That just leads to darker places.

Welp, I've got 576 tons of Meta-Alloys in my Cutter, and a whopping 942 jumps to the limit of the route plotter. This is gonna be a loooooooooong trip. I'm gonna be an expert at basking when this is over. Hopefully I'll put a good dent in it before I have to log out tonight.

At this point I should say that he should be glad by the momuntum he has caused, besides, why would he expect all of ED players to be saints?
I doubt he expected everybody to be saints, but rather just hoped that there weren't enough true scumbags to UA bomb a memorial.

I really hate it when people justify treating other people like crap simply because "it's allowed". That alone is no excuse, nor does it rationalize said behavior.

A fellow player of our community, an Elite fan, is dying of cancer, and there is a large in game expedition event to raise his spirits and celebrate his life before it ends, and there are actually posters in this thread DEFENDING the actions to thwart and grief said event. I mean seriously, do some of you have no compassion for other humans at all???

Get over it???? SERIOUSLY??????!!?

Cancer is no minor matter, nor is griefing somebody with it something to trivialize or defend. The actions of these UA bomber(s) are inexcusable, it is abhorrent and sadistic, and this is not "one of those times" where anyone should look the other way. Get over it? No Sole Hunter, I don't think that's an option this time. Get over THAT.

The best way to deal with problems is to either solve them or not being too affected by them, for real I reccomend you calm down and think some more.
