Nice, I assume you know about the crashed Anacondas, Jameson's Cobra etc?

CMDRs!
What follows will, we hope, clarify some key FAQs ahead of launch. Please help us spread the word.

Q: Do I have to use the PG?
A: No. You are welcome to enjoy the event in any game mode. However, we would encourage you to make use of the official Private Group (Allcrowsareblack) as this is protected by an harassment policy supported by FDev. You should all have access to this by now but if you do not please follow the steps in this OP https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/464330-One-Month-to-Distant-Worlds-2-Time-to-Sign-up!.

Q: What are the Waypoints?
A: We don’t know. Waypoints will only be announced c.1 hour ahead of each stated launch time (based on the EU launch). They will not be revealed ahead of that under any circumstances.

Q: Where are we launching from?
A: Pallaeni system. Initially meet on the surface near Brooks Point surface installation on planet A 1 well away from the Trespass Zone. At c. 30 mins to launch we will make our way to the Distant Worlds 3302 tourist beacon and stop several km away from it to discourage incidents with NPCs. Give yourselves plenty of time to wing up and instance with friends.

Q: When are we launching?
A: There are three launch times for the three major time zones. UK, US, Oceanic:
20:00 UTC for Europe
01:00 UTC for USA (i.e. 5 hours after Europe)
10:00 UTC Monday for Australia.

Q: Do I have to go at a particular launch?
A: No. Anyone can attend any launch they like or all of them. Crow will be at all three.

Q: How many people can I get together with in one instance?
A: There is a ‘soft’ cap and a ‘hard’ cap for instances. The ‘soft’ cap is 16, the ‘hard’ cap, which must be ‘forced’ by winging other CMDRs into it is 27. After 27 it’s one in, one out.

Please look out for announcements about launch speeches etc. in the FleetComm Discord.

Be aware that we will be putting the servers under a high degree of stress so framerate and connection issues are likely. Please be patient.

On behalf of the PS4 Organisers, thank you for making this journey of discovery so special already! We are delighted to be flying with you all and can’t wait to get going!.

Journey Well CMDRs! o7.

is there a recommended minimum jump distance, I know I have heard it tossed around but can't remember for the life of me what it is.
Also just saw someone post on reddit that there is a group of people who want to shadow the main fleet for the sole purpose of killing people during the journey.

The gap to Beagle Point is 33.40 Ly iirc. So most recommend your ship can jump 34Ly, or you do 17Ly and need to use the highest level jumponium to get across. Or somewhere inbetween + lower level jumponium.
Aiming for 34 is best, and far more achievable than in the old days.

Have they lowered it then? I thought we get more than that on the mass-jump to Hutton.

Thoroughly tested during Enigma. Definitely 27 at last test.

Forgive my intrusion, but if memory serves, it was a painful experience with 27 CMDRs - serious framerate drops, people randomly crashing out, etc. I would recommend setting a lower number if you want the experience to be enjoyable.

Going back to minding my own business now :D

Heading out to the first nav point now, got my phantom up to 38 ly without the guardian fsd booster, and that is fully kitted out for the journey.

I read that you guys did a mass jump while I was in hyperspace currently 28,000 ly away. I'll be extremely angry if I log into a rebuy screen. [mad]
