well its still early in E3 week and we may yet see something more from FD over the course.

but since they and microsoft had been touting ED coming to Xb1 you think it would have gotta more than that little head nod.

*edit* - one thing i was interested in was the Holo Lens they previewed .. could you imagine that with a virtual Hud for ED on pc and Xb1 though.. that would be pretty sweet

I'm not bothered by the CQC thing. XBox can have it and when it comes to the PC I'll give it a whirl.

RE: BIG ANNOUNCEMENT. The week isn't over yet. But I get the feeling this is their big item. They always play the wrong cards close to their chest.

I now realized this game is not a crowdfunding game, it only used kickstarter backers to get it off the ground by telling them whatever they wanted to hear, investors rule the business now not backers. They need to make the quarterly reports look good and pay back investors, don´t forget they are in for REVENUE, investors don´t give a damn about a game, they could as well invest in Zynga instead and make money with Candycrush and pull out their money anytime.

Although, nothing to do with ED now, but I loathe consoles .. just can't seem to get to grips with controllers - they feel .. so alien & wrong. (KB/Mouse all the way, including ED

THAT'S IT! I see where the confusion is! He never said that! He said 'PvP would be rare and meaningful!'....and it is! It has plenty of meaning to those that PvP...look at all the posts here claiming exactly that! Add to the fact that so many people complain that they are griefed by NPC's! And relative to the massive amounts of PvE characters that are fought I am surely certain that PvP is extremely rare!

Well, call me gullible, I still believe in what he says; even with the death of Offline single player. But specifically 'hunting on planets?' personally not my cup of US. coffee. I just think most people remember that statement and the # of times he mentioned it.

oh and aside from the CQC part of the trailer all of that footage was recycled from other videos so hardly anyof it was gameplay.

to summerise.. im not impressed so far im afraid, (and im being polite on that as i dont want to get banned again), howevr the week is young there may be more to come from FD over E3 but not a great start.

#2 If thats true, I understand now why we have that borked mechanic solo // private groups // open play..

Advertise as an MMO and then let the player base not interact with each other. RIP Lugh, Mikunn and other player groups.. your efforts will be wasted due to invisible players affecting your goals..

i think this arena is a wonderful idea for hardcore pvp pilots who wants to have fun, yell in front of there PC and share various tactics and tricks

and with all these well maid ships, it's understandable that some systems use them for (violent) sport

Hi Guys,

Let me add to the speculations here just becasue I know David love reading them. Just for fan I read bunch of staf and connected few dots and here is what I think (hope for). The first paid expansion will be to get out of your seat, walk around your ship, maybe do some EVA, board other people ships, get walk around the stations and land on small objects like asteroids and and walk around them. No planetray landing. But never mind, if I'm at last half right this will expand hugely the game play area and add whole anoter depth and porsibilities to it. The each station is a quite big city on its own...

To be honest, all they'd have to say is that Ambulation would be the next paid expansion, and would be coming our in about a year, show a short vid, using an unrestricted debug camera "walking" up the ramp of a Cobra, and down a passage and into the cockpit..... and the forum would be a lot happier place.

I was hoping they'd show something new for the PC and Mac players. Like a new ship or something that we'll get in the near future.

What are you smoking, they've been working on the Planetary Expansion for months now. It will come out first by the end of this year or early next year. Ambulation (walking around) will be after that.

The issue is one of trust and the breaking of. We had a vague roadmap of: Full Release then expansions for the PC. The expansions first off were walking around and planetary landings. Now what did we get, well the first few expansions were stuff that should have been in the game from the start. Suddenly out of nowhere we got Community Goals and then even more bizarrely and out of left field Powerplay popped up. Now we find some form of Call of duty in space shoot 'em up thing is being released. What happened to Planetary landings and walking around? Why can't Frontier be a little more honest about the roadmap, I get they want to make big announcements but in reality they are just getting peoples hackles up. It feels like the people who funded the kickstarter have long been forgotten. The game lacks content, it needs life and stuff to do that has meaning. I am disappointed in the direction that the game is heading and certainly what is coming out at present has absolutely zero connection to Elite or the kickstarter.

No it wouldn't. You could time travel, get ED version 5.2 from the future and people would still moan.

I mean, the Star Citizen ED Katarmari Damashii thread has more grown up conversation than here, these days. How messed up is that? I thought these forums would be full of level headed debate and yet it's full of childish squealing as this E3 has revealed.

Since we're speculating, i think they will announce a brand new (non elite related) game at E3.
They hinted as much, and the cash influx from ED makes it possible to broaden their catalogue.
