I get the feeling this thread is going to be a hit-and-run by the OP.

Shame, this thread had potential.
The evidence that bots exist and have been used is easy to find. Getting hold of a working bot to download and use is a different matter and not so easy.

So then you and the OP should stop implying that this a widespread problem and potentially starting more hysteria on these forums. And as other people have commented on this thread, all I can find is stuff about bots that no longer work, requests for bots, and people speculating about bots in ED. That is hardly conclusive evidence or "easy to find". But yes, anyone who finds evidence should forward it on to someone at FDev.

I'm pretty sure all player actions are recorded using SSL and sent to FDev servers. Ships/modules/shields all that stuff.
There is no bot that could be an effective pirate farmer. Sure have the NPCs don't know what the heck they're doing!
VoiceAttack already automates a good amount of stuff, the the best you could hope for after all that would be an Auto-Pilot of sorts.
I'm currently working on a planetary lander and POI marker system with auto pilot. Now whether Fdev allow that for public consumption is another matter. I know they won't allow an FMS even tho it's stupid easy to code.

How about a new C&P bot that flys around like an idiot and lets your notoriety bleed off while you makes moneys at work? Sounds brilliant. Maybe even give it a body so it can make you a cake while you are away. And then...
