Hi everybody! I'm quitting lurker mode now, been following this thread for well over 100 pages.
I'm lucky enough to have been a Rift DK2 owner since the first batch shipped and I've had a lot of fun with ED already. Mostly in Beta 1, as ever since Beta 2 hit I just cannot seem to get it working well enough to spend any serious amount of time in game. So sad...
Somewhere along the line something broke in ED for me. I couldn't maintain 75fps in Beta 1 either, but it wasn't really bad, it was still playable. I could live with the slight delay in headtracking and judder it caused. But in Beta 2 I get horrible graphical artefacts whenever the framerate drops below 75fps. The judder causes a sort of double-image or ghosting problem that is unbearable to me.
It shows worst on the holographic UI elements with their bright glowing outlines. e.g. when I have a planet targeted the holo-image of it turns into two images when I turn my head left to right, one lagging behind the other. The problem doesn't show up in screenshots, so I did a mockup in Photoshop:
I have tried switching GPUs, reinstalling drivers, tweaking all available graphical settings (I just cannot stay above 75fps in all situations, not even close - even on lowest settings) and all combinations of monitor setups (even Rift as only monitor) and freshly restarted service/display mode switching tricks I have learned while playing well over 200 different Rift demos over the past 3 months. ED is currently the only game with such a huge problem for me, e.g. I can play Alien Isolation just fine.
I guess it is related somehow to broken timewarp and/or low-persistance. Might have to upgrade my hardware (on a i5 with a GTX 660Ti right now, which isn't high end but decent enough) and hope for SDK updates and Beta 3 at this point.
