Release ED-Intelligent Boardcomputer Extension

Hi Duke!
I would like to revisit this issue of 'MED' being seen as 'LOW', as I don't know whether you have spotted this pattern...

The 'MED being seen as 'LOW' happens predominantly in the 'Supply Level' column and very rarely in the 'Demand Level' column and I mean very rarely, maybe 1 instance out of every 5-6 Stations OCR'ed.

This is happening to me a lot too. See, for example:
pQu1YTI.png

Anyone got any idea why this is happening or how I can fix it? It seems really unusual - of all the OCR errors I can imagine, mistaking MED for LOW seems really unlikely.

Hi. Can you tell me what the OCR Correction Images folder is for? Can I delete the contents? It's getting rather large: 3202 items currently and I've only been playing for a few weeks.

I checked this. Seems you can delete these items.
I didn't realize RN is collecting rubbish in this dir.

HI sutex,
no, I' m still developing. You can see the progress there:

https://github.com/Duke-Jones/RegulatedNoise/network
https://github.com/Duke-Jones/RegulatedNoise/tree/MySQL

It's summer here and so I did often other funny things and the dev is a little bit slowing down.
But now as the days become shorter I will spend more time in RN again.

Focus is still on the mysql restructuring. Other suggestion I will not consider until
the mysql version is done (unless there's really a problem e.g. with the new ED versions)

Hi Duke,

I just wanted to give a bit of encouragement! I had a quick look at the MySQL branch notes and from my limited understanding, it looks like you've put a lot of work in. Again, if I've understood correctly it also looks like there's lots of improvements.

Anyway, Regulated Noise is still the best tool I've come across for my needs, so Rep'd for the continuing work

With API ..lurking in the background or even ED building more on its own internal data collection , other enhancements, that would help in exportation side of data tracking, not necessarily just goods and prices.

Screenshots of system information and of explored planets & systems, that RN could read.

Possible Bugs:
Using 1.84_0.27:
- Tracking of current system will sometimes stall and a restart is needed, a way to force refresh of monitoring the netlog might be needed (I think it has to do with access of file if multiple programs watch it)
- OCR calibration is off in terms of alignment yellow markers and actually coordinates are a bit weird and off, making ocr data capture incorrectly cutting off some information (usually last numbers)

Suggestion.
- A way to track system factions (especially with player made factions coming up) would be very nice, A new fan under commanders log perhaps, that would allow you to enter a system (it could get the info from the system database) and allow you to note down factions in said system, maybe type (democracy e.t.c.) influence and states too?

Other then that, keep up the great work and thanks for picking up the program :)

This still is the best and in many ways the most comprehensive trading tool, Duke.
The updates are very much appreciated.
At present, however, I have a problem in that the current system does not update. I have tried starting RN before ED. Tried starting RN after ED, no change. Stuck on HIP24157.
Have tried deleting the settings .xml, tried renaming folder and reinstalling. No change
I am currently manually correcting the system and station names in the OCR, prior to importing.
No major problem, but would be nice if there was a solution, or suggestions I could try.

curious. I just checked the system recognition on my system and it is working.
Try to delete the latest log from your ED log folder. Do you have something
interesting in the RN log folder ? Or maybe RN now looks in a wrong folder ?

found client.log in Elite Dangerous folder. deleted. no change.
Deleted all Regulated Noise, deleted Reg entries (but they were only historic app use), unzipped V27 into new folder (regulatednoisenew), ran it, made two practice jumps, no change, still stuck on HIP 24157, location box says 'scanning'.
Deleted all Regulated Noise, install V 19, ran it, made two practice jumps, no change. updated to V27 from new download from GitHub. No change.
In all the above, the commander tab shows that log file is empty, no entries appear.
Any further suggestions, please?

hm, thats strange. Is it only "HIP 24157" where RN stucks ?

btw:
I'm working hard on the new RN which will be published under a new name (which is unknown at the moment - also for me...some suggestions ?)
The base work is done and now I have to finish detailed problems.
A early (alpha/or beta) version is near for testing in the next weeks and I try to publish the first official release
with upcoming 1.5.

If you're firm in programming so feel free to comment my current (and previous) work

so........stand by, Cmdrs:cool:

Seems latest version 0_27, loses system location at random times? anyone else getting this?
Also would be nice with it knowing that when there's a buy price but no demand or demand number, that it is a community goal.

for me, it has stuck at HIP 24157 for a month or so. as per previous messages, uninstalled, reinstalled, no change, deleted backup files, no change. delete client.log file, no change.
I can, of course, still change the OCR'd commodity system and station manually, but would be nice if it is automatic.
By the way, commander's log picks up the manually entered system/station.

Your work is really good, my gripe is only a very small issue. really looking forward to the next one! please keep up the good work!

Any news in terms of a version that works with horizon's new layout? demand and supply having been changed and such.

Looking at the dev updates on the repository it is still being worked on. I am looking forward to starting a new commander with a fresh RN database when it is released.

I downloaded the new version and it didn't do anything. I launched the exe but it just put 3 processes in the task manager and showed no windows or anything else. In fact when it was clear nothing was happening I couldn't kill the processes without rebooting the machine, almost a viral-like behavior.

Doesn't happen on 0.27. However I do get an error on the old one which may be the same problem but different symptom. It's looking for the 32-bit client, I don't have it installed so it's the wrong folder name.

Have a try and set the ProductsPath and the Gamepath in the RegulateNoiseSettings manually to the
correct (64-bit) directory.
Gamepath is the same as the Productspath + "<ActiveGamedir>"

I tested it with 32 and 64 bit clients installed. Maybe this is the reason
that I had no problems with it. If you set the path manually it could work....
