Same here. i can log in just fine, but when I start the game it says it can't contact the authentication server.

So why can I log in in the first place? Surely that requires authentication?

Some multiplayer games have a different log on server to the actual game servers.

...and I'd just managed to find the 3rd star in a 3 star system. It had taken me 10's of minutes to find and I was closing on it at over 800c (and still accelerating) and was over 180,000 LS from the 1st and 2nd stars and it was still a long, long way off. Now I'm going to have to find it all over again. At least this time I know what to look for.
