hi, since friday afternoon (around 18:00 german time) have the problem of the following error when i try to START (main menu) the game

unable to retrieve commander data from the server ....

ticket is out but still no response and the same error. an hour ago at friday i'm playing without problems, like the last 3 weeks.

could anyone help? nothing have changed in the computer config or router config.
 
Happened to me on Wednesday, ticketed it but no response as yet, I guess they are swamped with tickets from the many problems people are having.

After 3 days I cleared my save and that solved the problem but of course my 4 mill Credits and Cobra were reduced to a Sidewinder and 100 Cr :(

I have seen quite a few other posts from people with similar problems, as far as i can see clearing the save is the only solution.

One guy did briefly get into the game by going into group mode but that didn't last long.
It looks like the Save state (commander data file) is being corrupted.

i know its not released yet but .. ...??? i'm not willing to delete my commander if an error occurs.

after weekend (defs and support also needs weekends :p ) i hope i get a response. as i told, ticket is open with logs but i give it a try that someone in the forum have had a solution.
your answer made me a little bit .. well .. mad about the support because youre ticket is open and not solved/addressed since serveral (working) days?

Just happened to me too after logging in for the first time in a week - after going deep into unknown space with the First Great Expedition. Ticketed. :eek:
 
I've been getting this too since last night.

I'm almost certain that it's something on Frontier's end, as the only thing I did between then and now is I filed a ticket for an unrelated graphical issue. I also filed a ticket for this because I'd assume player data should be at the top of their bug lists to make sure stays safe, especially with all the hub bub about no single player option.

I just went through and uninstalled the game, cleared all the data that was lingering around (just in case) and did a fresh install. Same error message.

I am currently in the Cheneti System I take a mission to get Natural Material by any means for a 5,000 cr reward with a time limit. I return some time later with 13hs to go and the server refuses to pay out every time I tried to hand over the cargo to receive my reward I kept getting the message "The server has failed...........ended up selling the cargo...but still made a profit...but I could made so much more....... ;)

Hi All,

At Bernad's Star. There was a mission high value at the pirate base for something sold at the starport. Figured I was just being a middleman as not seen one of these since Beta.
Took the mission, purchased the stuff but could not get a new mission list. This was about 20:00.
Left game spent 20 mins in Real Life MMO, came back mission server fed life now get a "Cannot Complete Mission transaction" error.

I was hoping they were resetting to jig the major fsaction missions.

Anyone else having mission problems - I am hoping my save game is not goosed?

Shouldn't happen often, but server disconnects are pretty much expected with online games, no?

Personally, I have had very few problems with connectivity...except when my dumb dog unplugged the router.

Doesnt happen to me anymore. In the beta it happened often. Not now.

So, can you give us some info more than that? Net speed, hardware etc. Doesnt really help to just say "things are bad".
 
i have a similar problem, but for me my whole machine loses connectivity to the internet for about a minute.
All other devices can still connect, but no internet browsing or anything on that machine.

I wouldnt call it an EliteD bug, but it would be interesting to know if you experience the same.
 
@Max Rockatanksy: Sounds like your NIC is getting reset periodically.

it happens intermittently. the windows logs are clean, as far as I can tell. I am suspecting some kind of firewall/DoS-protection or something like this.
Havent found anything so far. It is a short time window to troubleshoot. after a minute or so everything is back to normal.
 
I notice it took slightly longer to load up than usual when I first installed the new launcher, not sure why, but just test it now and it logging in straight away.
