Re-Downloading and reinstalling the launcher worked for me, logged straight in and updating now.

I was getting the error but this fixes it thanks Nutter!
I had downloaded the new launcher yesterday although it didn't ask for a new verification code; however having just re-downloaded the launcher again it asked for a new verification code.
Has the new launcher been updated again since yesterday?
Even though I downloaded the new installer yesterday I was getting the error message. I just re downloaded it again, and was prompted for verification code and then it worked. So up date you installers even if you have the new one.
were can you download the launcher?

I'm guessing that just re-authenticating your computer without re-installing the client could well have done it as well, but I can't test that now.
