Apparently when most people start the launcher for 2.0X they get a message to update the client launcher for 3.0X, I never got that.

I figured this out from another thread in the Beta forum and that thread had a link to the installer for the new client launcher for those who never get the update message.

Downloaded and installed the updated client launcher, then I was able to sign in and now I am updated to 3.03!

server unconnected

hi, since i purchased the beta i have not been capable of starting game because in the main menu screen the start game option is always IN RED and there is a message at the bottom of the screen: server unconnected
i have already ticketed to technical support but still waiting for a solution from them
does anybody have experienced the same issue? any suggestion why i can not connect to frontier servers

Getting the same here - was in game a short while ago - getting "unknown server error" message now.

Same here... I bought it last night and all I have ever been able to see is a red START button and "Unconnected" at the bottom.

I turned my firewall off and tried it without it; same result. Looks like it's on the Frontier side of things.

I have also had issues although I have been paying ED since the Premium Beta. I had a bug this morning where I was thrown out of the game from interdicting an NPC. Since then I haven't been able to log back into the game. I get as far as Open Play/Solo then I get a Server Error.

I am unable to connect to open play or solo mode after patching up to 3.03. I was able to play after 3.00 but didn't have a chance to try 3.01 or 3.02 although I did patch up to 3.02. So today I had some time and patch to 3.03 but unfortunately I get the spinning ship for roughly 15 secs and then the Server Error. Could not connect to Server message. I tried re-downloading the launcher, no luck. Anybody else getting this problem after the patch or have a solution to the problem? I've submitted a ticket, awaiting a response. The stickied post regarding this issue wasn't useful (at least not to me for this build).

my best suggestion is to log in, click your email address and 'validate game files' in case of a corrupt install.

other than that you could try logging out your machine to reauth it via the code that is emailed too you.

good luck, hope you sort it as your missing out on some great gameplay.

Unable to connect to Server

I haven't seen any other threads so far regarding this; correct me if I'm wrong.
Since I updated to Beta 3 on Friday I've only been able to stay connected for a few minutes at a time before the server connection is lost. I have checked my network and service provider but, of course, they claim innocence.
This morning I can't even get in to the game, with Server Error being shown every time? Is there a problem at the server end?

I was finally able to login and play yesterday a few hours, but with other issues... now it's back to "Unconnected". Are the servers down?

do not get it for extended periods. but it will just say 'fail to connect with server' meaning i have to re start the game. Last night it did it so often I stopped playing. This morning just once in two hours

Hello,

I was having no issues at all playing the game, even after the latest update (3.03) and now for some reason, every time I launch my game in any mode (besides tutorial) it says it can't connect to the server and quits on me. If I load a tutorial and then exit to the menu, then go back into the game, it runs just fine, until I jump to another system. When I jump, the loading screen works fine and as soon as the star appears I get the unable to connect message again. I'm wondering if anybody has a solution to this, as it seems to be just affecting my save game. I really don't want to have to clear my save again as this will be the tenth time I've started over and I'm beginning to lose interest in starting over.

same problem here. as soon as i tried to launch.
