EDDiscovery 18.X is now out. Modules panel upgrades and Engineering

But why are you converting from one file extension to the same file extension? That doesn't make much sense.

I make a new folder for pictures from each trip and switch the EDD destination to let it organise my pictures for me. Admittedly, I do also drop them down to .png at the same time but even if I wanted to keep .bmp I'd still use it as a filing utility.

Similarly, I have EDD move my pictures to a "new" folder in my photos, convert to PNG (saves disk space), and also rename them with the date / time / system name. That way I always know when and where the picture was taken. Then I manually sort them by whatever I was doing, later. Super useful!

12.0.2 has a check to stop the same file folder with the same extension being set up so the endless loop cant be setup. This is only checked on the dialog though so if you've already got it set up that way it wont stop it.

A version will be released on Wednesday for Odyssey provisional support, but will be marked as a pre-release version. Use this if you want some basic odyssey support.

It will add two new panels (suits/microresources) and know about the new odyssey events.

It needs testing with the release since the alpha stage did not have a stable journal and thus its not 100% tested.

Many systems in EDD need updating for odyssey, such as the voice output and voice recognition. These will be updated throughout the summer.

Hi, thank you for bringing us such a great tool!

In setting windows, the Frontier CAPI allow sync my CMDR data to EDD? I login ED via Steam, I assume I should use the Steam ID to login?

I'm abit of confused now because there's nothing to show in EDD after login with either the Frontier account or Steam ID....

I'm not running EDD on the same machine running ED.

Thank you. Orzz

Then you need to direct EDD to the location of your journal files. EDD works by reading everything logged by the game to your journal files. it does not draw info from Frontier.

Well.. it can use the CAPI to get your journal from the Frontier servers (this is for Console commanders), but if your playing on PC you need to set your commander's journal path appropriately.

I didn't know console users could use this great app now - sorry about my misunderstanding.

I love this program. Thanks for providing it, it's a great tool.

I have a question about screenshot names.

I have 3 CMDRs and I have noticed that the System Name and Body Name are pulled from whichever CMDR I have selected at the top, even if that's not the one I'm on when taking a screenshot.

So if I forget to switch EDDiscovery to my active CMDR, the System Name and Body Name are all wrong, showing the location of my other CMDR (the one that's active in EDDiscovery, rather than the one I'm playing in ED).

I suppose this is intended behavior, but I just wanted to check.

Yeah, EDD doesn't handle multiple commanders super reliably, if you don't remember to switch. It won't upload data to EDDN, EDSM, etc for the unselected commanders either. And you're really in a pickle if you try to play multiple commanders simultaneously. ;)

At least currently, it's best to remember to switch the selected commander. ;)

Note: I'm not on the EDDiscovery team, I've just run multiple commanders on several occasions.
