Previously it was good tool but i could live without it . Now it is must have , because you have to keep track of so many materials .

Awesome job.

New version looks great!

I have 2 small requests

1) it would be convenient to have a filter for the grade of material/data. I'd like to be able to just view grade 4 or grade 5 materials/data, for example, to make planning collection/trading easier.
2) it would be cool to have a list or reference of some kind showing which materials are all in the same row in the material trader. I have to keep looking this up :)

Thanks again for your work on this. It gets a lot of use from me!

one of the toggles on top of the ingredient list groups items in their category at the material trader, I think this could help you

Firstly, loving the program. Definitely going to use it extensively in the future.

However I find that the shopping list UI can be a bit dizzying, esp since everything is abbreviated and repeated multiple times.

Basically it groups everything that has a grade so you can more easily see it.

Installed this as I am new to engineers and think it will be very useful, thanks for making this!

Couple things I noticed wanted to ask about.

I installed this thinking it would ask me for an install location but it doesn't and found it was difficult to find where it installed which I now know is in:

C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Max

it would be nice if we could choose where this installs.

Also it does not install a shortcut icon to start the program itself and I don't see how you are suppose to close it other than closing the program in task manager or choosing quit in taskbar?

I was having to rerun the installer till I find that install location.

Edit: I am using an old MS sidewinder x4 keyboard and so I am using one of the S keys to open EDengineers which was what I was going to do anyways.

@HarkinIssier

good idea, thanks for the design! here is the new version (background color goes according to blueprint's type e.g. synthesis, module, experimental...):

@Space Dandy
* Can't chose where it installs (technical limitation of the way I chose to deploy initially, it was a bad idea but it was quick and easy ; too much trouble to migrate to something more modern now)
* Quit the app either in the task tray icon, or the gear button, or close the window while in Unlocked Mode
* You should find EDEngineer if you search for it in your start menu, you can also right click the search result to create shortcuts

Do you know if we can just move the "Max" folder or will that cause the program not to work properly, I mean will the program run and look for stuff on the original install location but then not find anything?

what "Max" folder?
your logs are supposed to be in "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Saved Games\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous"

I was asking if you knew if we could just move the folder where your program (wasn't talking about the elite game logs) is installed to a different location, it is installed in the "Max" folder as I mentioned in a previous post or would it cause issues.

Ah I see.
That folder contains a shortcut created by ClickOnce. The actual executable is installed in an automatically generated directory inside your AppData folder (you don't get to chose where, and it doesn't need administrative privileges since this is not located in your Program Files).
You can find the executable location by right clicking the process in the task manager and click on "Open file location".

Hi Cmdr HG,
first I like to thank you for your very helpfull and nice program.
Unfortunately since I visited a Technology Broker and unlocked a weapon he offers, I do get an error at each start of EDEngineer.
(Sorry, can't upload a screenshot)

Besides that, the program seems to work fine.

Thanks again
Homunk

It's beautiful! I love the panel coloring idea and turning the syntheses, experimental effects, and tech unlocks into single cells.

Thank you!
