EDProfiler - A New Display Switcher/Robust Settings Profiler/Switcher/Detector!

Not sure I am getting you but the custom files are run (a few millionths of a second) before the game settings are applied.

You can have a different set of custom files for each profile, so make one for Monitor and one for VR

Ah I've misunderstood, the custom files are linked to the profile. Even better - thanks again.

Dr Kaii - Any chance of an import / export feature to share profiles between ourselves?

If someone gets a killer combo for VR I'd like a copy. Saves having to manually enter and check many settings. Thanks.

What does the Model Draw Distance setting actually do? It doesn't seem to decrease pop-in at all if you increase it past the base value. Does it just increase the distances that models start being rendered?

I can't seem to save a profile with anything less than Texture Quality = High. If I try to save it with Medium or Low it always reverts to High. it only does this with Texture Quality. Bug? or wanted behavior?

I get this as well, though I assumed it was a display bug. But I've not yet upgraded to the latest version (was waiting until 2.3 launch just in case).

I'm having a problem with EDProfiler. Every time I try to start it, it quickly shows the connection/download window and after that it just gives an "application could not be started" error.
There is also a log file and if I understood it correctly, some downloadable file isn't available?

EDIT: Forgot to say, it worked perfectly with 2.2 and 2.3 beta, but now after 2.3 was released, can't run the program at all.

Right, the application ALWAYS starts minimized and I cannot bring it to show in its normal size. Does anyone knows of a solution?

reinstall (maybe several times), it will work eventually.

As for the download install issue, you'll need to just uninstall it, rename your %localappdata%\apps\2.0 folder, and then install again (through internet explorer, not chrome or ff or anything).

As for the texture high setting issue, email me your C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Graphics folder: kaii@dr.com

Ok, thank you. Deleting the 2.0 folder did the trick, now it installed and launched again. :)

As a software developer I'm genuinely curious - what kind of software needs a specific browser to get installed in a particular way?

We have a brand new feature in EDProfiler: A built in GUI Colour editor! Plenty of features, I will let you have a fiddle (been working on it all day).

If you like it, feel free to donate, as there is more work to do on it (like adding avatars when I can figure out what the matrix does to them, and maybe a more stream-lined colour picker).

It lets you see what your chosen GUI values look like for almost every layout in the game. It lets you change them on the fly, it lets you click on a colour to blend that colour in to what you've selected, it lets you scroll through your profiles. It is very very cool.

Has the ability to switch to larger values and negative values.

It may have bugs, and right now EDProfiler's file size has bloated due to the colour picker. That is something I will address very soon, and bring it back down to a few megabytes. But for now, I've had enough coding for one day :)

Of course, if you haven't noticed in previous updates, it also has the new settings for 2.3, as well as quite a few bug fixes and improvements.

Enjoy!

Impressive.

Almost certainly out of your hands, do you think it'll possible at some point to target individual elements (so they change but the overall UI doesn't) like text? Like I said highly likely it's down to Frontier and not you.

Avast doesn;t like the new update and has sent it off to labs - great!
Its the new dlls which I will strive to get rid of :)

Blimey this is amazing! I will try it when I have some time.

HAVE ALL THE REP

I got 3 rep, is that all?

Impressive.

It is frontiers fault. Blame them. Blame them hard.
But.......................all is good.

;-)

Not all, I have plenty of optimizations to do and features to work out. Stay tuned

The GUI/HUD Color Editor has been heavily worked on!!!

FIRSTLY, the code has been optimised, so the whole thing runs a lot faster, less lag etc.

SECONDLY, the color picker now has 3 modes:

1. Blend: mixes the color you click softly in to your selection
2. Replace (main): changes the overall color scheme to the one you select - a heavy replacement of the main ""orange""
3. Replace (highlights): replaces only the blue highlights (shields, some writing etc) - Note, it needs further work to get it more exact in all situations.

Have a fiddle to see exactly what each does. Hopefully, you'll be able to produce some awesome HUDs with this :)

THIRD, it is now fully region-friendly. Use your commas and ambersands and question marks for decimal separators to your hearts content! Weirdo.

FOURTH, the image is much more refined, neater, and includes more menu items for reference.

LASTLY, file size is reduced down to a healthy 2mb again

COMING SOON: (if I can figure it out): Avatars!

Enjoy!

Well done :)

I've been using your profiler since September/October, and F knows how I'd make all the changes and tweaks I like to try, while swapping between VR and 2D, without your app. I literally use it every single time I load Elite

Nice work but can you please add a simple switch for ASW=OFF. It's simply a bind for CTRL & Numpad 0.
