Fix faction influence levels when many factions experience significant influence drops in a given star system
To address problems from the above issue, all minor faction influence levels in all star systems have been reset back to their state just before the release of 1.3
For those Commanders affected by the problems with military ranks, their Federation and Empire progression has been restored to the state just before the release of 1.3
Ok, so as has been said multiple times (and rightly so) neither of these things are fixes. What they are, are pathetically lazy. Instead of actually addressing individual issues on a player-per-player basis, as would be the professional way, you're just implementing a blanket reset right across the board. Those players who donated credits or goods to improve reputation and influence, will they be getting refunds since they'll now have done that for nothing? And exactly WHAT issues with military ranks have been "fixed" by having all progress since 1.3 lost?? I had issues with my Imperial rank, I had to do 5 naval ascension missions before I finally got the Duke rank I was owed. Since I was affected by issues which then, finally, worked, am I still losing my ranks and going back to my pre-1.3 rank of Earl?
Finally, those who are saying that they will stop playing if their games is negatively affected by these so-called fixes... that doesn't work. Frontier Developments have the money you paid for the game, they don't care if you don't play the game. You need to go public, show the result of these "fixes" in videos or screenshots. Make potential customers aware of the FD routine for "fixing" issues. If it stops people buying the game, THEN Frontier Developments may actually start using QC and in-house testing, may actually start listening to beta testers, and may actually implement proper fixes to issues, including those that were first brought to their attention during the days of Beta 1.0x and yet still keep cropping up every time there is a major update...
