That's exactly the kind of thing which could earn you merits BUT not control points in any specific fortified/exploited etc system, since it will not help that kind of an effort.
 
Reducing the merits required to obtain the first modules introduces imbalance. Two of the modules are objectively better than their standard counterparts - a straight upgrade, while others are sidegrades or novelties. Making the former modules even easier to get for the powers that give them first will even further skew the balance of players, toward those powers. One of the powers in question was and is already by far the most popular power. It seems absurd, sorry, to suggest that this is improving balance, rather than making objectively better modules obtainable fairly to all pledges.

I think it's wrong for exobiology to be included in Powerplay 2.0. People are out there collecting exobiology data on a large scale over several weeks.
... in a self-sufficient way - so they are not consuming any resources from that Power. And they have invested several weeks and a lot of capital equipment in the expedition.
Then you come back to the bubble, give it away and suddenly you are in the power play of your power at rank 100.
Everybody and I mean everybody is complaining about the low merit rate for exo, so I don't want to get all Arguments on the Internet about it, but that is quite simply not true, 'tis but a straw man.
Anyone who does exobiology already has the advantage of earning several billion. No other way of playing (trading, mining, bounty hunting) earns you more and doesn't even come close to the rewards of exobiology. The player out there pursuing exobiology in the vast universe is not exposed to the dangers that other players in the bubble are.
Exploring is way more dangerous than flying around friendly systems in the Bubble. You could play, for instance, the Trader playstyle forever and never even buy a beam laser. Mining's hazardous if you Do It Wrong I guess but it's not essentially dangerous like exploring is. if you are just sensible about waiting for pirates to leave you alone before you start mining, you can do that for ever without seeing a laser, too.

It's not as dangerous as bounty hunting but it's not really comparable in any other way to bounty hunting so I don't see that as valid. Bounty hunting is not "being in the Bubble" it is deliberately seeking hostile situations for reward.
Some players did exactly that at the beginning of Powerplay 2.0 (submitted exobiology data) and were suddenly way above rank 100.
Yes, and that is acknowledged as a problem and it was mitigated with a short-term fix in the first update, so I am unsure what the complaint is here. Again, all the complaints are about how it's too low now.

I am a total Power Play noob, but from what I've seen it's not so much about military domination but about getting the populace on your side. This can happen with propaganda, winning wars, money, social aspects, etc. It's am abstract concept anyway, so I don't see why getting exploration data shouldn't increase the people's confidence in any given power.

As I said above, I am a total noob. So I could just as well be entirely wrong.

And I wasn't saying that explo data should have zero effect. I said it should not matter locally in fortifying or undermining a specific system. It should still give you merits ofc, on a personal level, much like the weekly assignments. Also it can affect your power globally (for example by distributing the control points among all of the systems controlled by your power).

But large amount of map data of totally unrelated systems on the far edge of the galaxy should not be used to decide a power conflict in a single specific system in the Bubble.

After PPV2, you are doing the exact same thing with literally zero difference, and you will be given the same amount of credits PLUS a load of merits. Why?

Everyone else needs to do something PP-related. Go and bounty-hunt, fight CZs, trade, mine etc in very specific places, at the very least.
 
Hmmmm. did the notes get edited this morning? It sems that the following fot added to the fix list:
Galaxy Map
  • Resolved a crash when using VR Power Play strategic view on Galaxy map
  • Filters on the Galaxy Map are no longer auto selected when you hover your mouse over them
The second fix there is not how I'd have described the filter settings population issue, but even as written it might help to a degree...... Here's hoping.....
 
The clearest head-and-shoulders better ones are prisms and pacis. Of those prisms are an extra foot higher because, uniquely, you can get them in any size.
Which would make the best power Winters (5th and 2nd) and the worst probably Antal (10th and 9th)

Throw in Cytoscramblers as well and the best power is Delaine (1st, 3rd, 9th) and the worst is Mahon (5th, 11th, 12th)

When data sold at station new to one, one instantly gets rep boost with controlling faction. Why?
Both exo and explo data sells for relatively high price. Why?
When particular one has no idea about something that one falls in absolute denial perception. Why?
Everyone else needs to do something PP-related. Go and bounty-hunt, fight CZs, trade, mine etc in very specific places, at the very least.
Some people only focused too much on what Everyone else should do instead of focusing on what that particular yourself should plan and do. Why?
 
Its been almost a month now, no merit gain was buffed, nor ranks adjusted. Only nerfs.
If you can cut merits for SLF fighters so easy, means you can buff merit gains for actual npc ships same way.

Where does it say that? Everything I have seen about Power Play suggests that it's not just about military domination but about social, cultural, technological and financial domination. You get a system by convincing the population that they should follow you, not by conquering it with force. At least that's how Power Play is described and and presented in game. I am alright with being proven wrong though.
