Spent 3 hours doing a wing mission with friends, didn't get the reward and did more than my fair share of the cargo hauling. It said to pick up the reward at the station(that I was already DOCKED to because I'm the one that turned in the last shipment) and I checked the mission board and my transactions page(mission completely disappeared, we were all still in wing), nothing. Re docked. Nothing. Hours worth of time wasted. Thanks for ruining the game.

Did you delete the message you received? Me and my wing mate had that issue at first: he deleted the message and couldn't see the reward.
On the next time, he did keep the message and could collect the reward.

Installation and Megaship Interactions
  • Data link scanner upgraded to allow scanning megaships and installations to reveal targets the player can interact with
  • Players can scan certain revealed targets to uncover sub-targets. These can be interacted with in different ways depending on the type
  • Players can damage generators to disable turrets
  • Players can use recon limpets to activate data terminals and comms arrays
  • Players can use hatchbreaker limpets to open a cargo bay

I popped out to see Pirate Lord Luca and had a bit of fun giving him the run around whilst I hacked his logs and went back in a bigger ship to take him out.

However, when I went out to the space bar hoping that I'd be able to do something I couldn't scan the node w/ my datalink...

I didn't delete the message, it deleted itself when I closed it(didn't hit the delete symbol either).

And if that IS the case, then that's called bad programming. Devs need to change that, you shouldn't loose out on your fkng hard work just because a message either auto deleted or was accidentally deleted, when it has nothing to do with the actual mission rewards screen on the mission boards.

Keeping a "feature" like that is asinine, and a surefire way to get a lot of newer players to stop playing before they even really start. Let that sink in.

Against my best judgement i bought horizons and gave this game a second chance. I realised pretty quick that not only does the game not offer a whole lot compared to games like X-3, it also makes it very annoying to just try enjoying the little that is there. For example, getting blown up by ships that are green to you because a stray shot hit them. And now these stories about getting taken 100LY away for a 1000cr bounty. It feels like theyre trying their hardest to make this game's annoyances into features.

But then again, for a limited group working on planets we can´t land/fly in yet, how many years of development will it be to make atmosphere of gas giant with lightnings to behave realistic, and also look good, or how long it takes to get all numerous PG created life to behave in wanted way?

This is probably related to capabilities of game engine itself. In my work I see that quite often. You write the "skeleton" or "core" of the application and after some time you realize you need to add something. But sometimes that means you have to start almost from scratch. And in my opinion, this is the case. Cobra engine is 4 years old and devs are probably bringing things they did not even considered on the beginning. For me as a developer they are great inspiration and I'd be so happy if I had opportunity to talk about the mechanics of the ED universe. They will bring it, I am sure they will and I will have no problem to pay for it extra money.

They are very different games. X games are first person empire building games. Elite is a pure space simulator.

I'm personally able to enjoy both.

I just popped in to say...Love the update.....really like the added storage....and the option to change the voice in the cockpit. Nice.[up][up]:)

I do exploration old way, without jumponium and neutron stars.
So I guess I´m ok if satisfied enough on my long range Anaconda, as I understood old engineering were not removed from FSD (or if it were, well I just get to seek ELW´s on my way back to Bubble, instead of going other direction).

If you want to traverse sparsely populated parts of the Galaxy you have to use Jumponium, it's not a choice. And then what's the point of explorer SRVs if they're not collecting Jumponium?

It doesn't matter that old Engineering has not been removed. There was no need for new Engineering other than to pull explorers back to the Bubble to re-grind Engineers for no reason. My point is that the update does not merely show no love to explorers, but actively obstructs them from exploring. I don't care if you're satisfied with that.

But about light on dark side of planets, it seems from close that at planets without atmosphere it is Milky Way star-disc acting as a source of the light (check planets with atmosphere, much darker on night side, though ofc we can´t land them and those still are actually just placeholder images now, but I bet end result will be similar).

edit: perhaps also light from our ship in Super Cruise (as we see other ships in SC bright like comets) might be a source of light at times especially if planet has no atmosphere to reflect that light off

Nonsense.

My answer to this has been so far staying in exploration (searching perhaps in future colonized ELW´s and terraformables to get my CMDR´s name on them as a first discoverer, for me to come check them later in VR with 1080 x 2 for any kind of life when opened for landing, but recently also because it pays so damn well now), and in trading/mission running mostly related to ("minor") Faction influence (I wanna expand one certain faction, but also make money with passengers/bulk trade missions, thus I can do both at the same time along with selling exploration data to affect influence).

In a nuttshell, I voluntarily choose not to take active self propelled part in a PvE/PvP before it has been fully fleshed out (though I still enjoy the "possible danger from psychopaths"-element in Open, reminding me from mass-murdering-psycho-npc´s of FFE or "Elite 3"), with all it´s Crime&Punishment features, and focus on other features of Elite that makes credits for all of my alts for future PvE/PvP (and use other games for PvE/PvP, though I´m getting so old blowing up others just don´t give same satisfaction it used to).

We can differentiate on opinions: especially about where light on night side of the planets with no atmosphere to reflect it comes from, I´m ok if you have not noticed Milky Way-disc/stars and a ship in a Super Cruise as only sources to produce light on those surfaces (especially closer you get).

Just remember those planets have no atmosphere to reflect light, not many of us have flewn and landed to one´s dark side (in a glowing ball of light) to experience and prove all that stuff (like even how far away light from Milky Way-disc behaves without atmosphere) personally.

And about your example about planet shadow not being correct:
check again, it is about 60% in light and 40% in shadow, thus reducing a line (from that angle) between shadow and light sides from a curve into a straight line.

My experience was on xbox, so maybe there's further issues on PC. Have you raised a ticket already?

fixed

Graphics jitters when using the Galaxy map in the Oculus Rift.

Not sure if anyone else suffered this one, I did report it on the forum, but nobody could pin it down. What ever has been changed has fixed this issue for me :)

Hi all,new here on forum but playing since early beta. Just one point for update. The game actively discourages single players/PvE players since Multicrew has been around. I think Im not alone here who does not have 3 human players at hand whenever I have time to play. To run my ship with crew or to do wing missions. The lack of AI crewmen/wingmen is why I barely play the game nowdays.

A whole lot of new stuff, to be sure. And a lot of fixes. All I really want is just one QoL fix. Make it so the launcher actually launches a non-horizons/engineer version of the game so I can actually encounter non-engineered ships piloted by NPC's in my solo play. Better yet, just finally make the base game offline available. BASE game. As in before Horizons came along. Maybe even before factions.
