Elite Dangerous | Colonisation Facilities & Markets

From what I hear, problems happen when the war would decide the overall controlling faction of the system. My own war to flip an outpost from the 3rd influence place faction to the 4th place anarchy faction started, progressed and finished without a hitch :)

As for the facility ownership, it seems that 1st one (primary port) will always be handed to the faction you got the system claim for; 2nd seems to be handed to the 3rd faction (maybe linked to the mechanics where if you're part of a squadron that's aligned to a minor faction, that minor faction will be the 3rd faction in your claimed systems?) and the rest are seemingly random, with weights so that the controlling faction has a higher chance for getting the ownership.

My own war to flip the system went almost without a hitch, 4 days, 4 battles, then in the fifth day I had a new non-anarchy controlling faction. And my colonized system had already 250k population.
Almost because one of the days the tick came in very late and also because there was no ground war, although I have plenty of ground settlements.

I was careful though not to do any new buildings during the war, afraid that will mess up the process.

It’s really ING frustrating to find that the community forums have more information than Fdev are willing to share.

I know there are more players than there are Fdev, but it’s been a month since we’ve had any substantive information.

Kudos to all you guys, but according to the info in these forums, and having colonised EXTENSIVELY two systems (HIP 114402 and Epsilon Octantis) which are all ed, I’m done.

The devs make the players work for them. It just gives the impression that they've “prepared” a feature at the last minute to boost the number of players without really knowing where they were going.
The fact that we still have no documentation says a lot.
I'm done too.

I have 39,242 tons to haul in 14 days to complete my Coriolis station. 2,803 tons a day, roughly. Four runs per day. It seems doable- but...

The more I haul, the less enjoyment I get. I trade between all my established systems, but I could make much, much more trading elsewhere. Participating in the CG was more fun than doing the same activity in my own systems. There's one system I can mine in, but I'm limited to a medium ship there. I need cash if I'm ever going to get my carrier back.

Without the ability to reliably build the economies of systems, I'm hesitant to put much more effort in.

You need a break - just let this one go. Go get your carrier back first.

This is such a unique feature the devs brought into the game.

The hauling the planning the building but then the things that puts me off is no real communication on issues,no speedy bug fixes,no markets activated when a station or coriolis is completed unless you have build an outpost with a assigned economy.

I mean that not the aim of colonising? Building your own population with the markets/economy you want in your system?

Im sitting with 7 stations already in my system.
6 out of the 7 does not have a market eventho they are orbiting the planets with the refinery, extraction and hightech settlements.

The 1 out of the 7 is the only one with a market which already has the economy which is industrial.

I mean seriously Fdev? Im sitting with planetary ports that have been finished constructing for 3 weeks now and stil shows under construction.🤣

Im better off in deep space or fighting thargiods than waisting my time on with no manuals or instructions nor bug fixes its sad starting something that turns into nothing.

Can't even get a "Here are the issues we know about and arre working on" type post. Just dead air. I've gone from mildly annoyed, to pretty sour on the whole thing. This has been a horrible interaction with them over all.

I couldn't agree with you more. I want to get started on a second colony, or should that be a proper colony but I'm holding off pending whatever changes might be coming to the feature. When that will be though is anybody's guess given the complete lack of, or complete failure to (depending on your point of view) communicate. I find myself having to check here every day to see if they've announced anything 🙄

might as well stalk their X for any unexpected bomb dropped in the reply to random cmdr

Their communication has long been abysmal, and it's stupid, because it's costing them paying customers and hitting their revenue. Honestly, I could put up with a lot and stay more engaged if I felt like I was being kept informed (currently my playtime is all going into RDR2 thanks to feeling thoroughly demotivated by trailblazers) - it's customer service 101. Once - once they managed to acknowledge that they'd been terrible at PR and comms and said they were committed to improving on that - and for a while, they actually did a good job of communicating with their customers. Then they let their decent community managers go and haven't bothered replacing them. Seems they simply don't have a professional comms dept (and I don't include the excruciating amateur hour streams that they seem to think suffice as a way dealing with their players). Baffling that a service providing company the size of Fdev don't understand the importance of decent customer service comms.
I miss Sally.

Hi all, not sure if this is something that's already been picked up regarding refinery hubs being broken (if they were active and you've added another installation in that local area). The broken hubs no longer allow me to apply a rename or a custom name against them. I've pasted some screenshot examples just for reference - Is anyone else seeing this for their broken hubs or is mine a separate bug altogether. I thought Id post here before logging just in case there is a master ticket already or a common theme, thanks o7

OK, so the one of the fixes required two weeks to deploy - it's now been two weeks and a Thursday tick. Has everyone affected checked whether it's fixed?

Well my long dead Coriolis took a jump forward this week. Suddenly I have Outfitting, UC, and Shipyard.

It's economy changed from Industrial and HighTech to just Industrial.

The Commodities still does not work - it opens up but it sells and buys nothing.

only le T2 and T3 surface port
settlement in any type... well some fixed ( mean having 3-6 commodities ) some still not having any market

FDev, please make an announcement when you apply a fix that makes it possible for new structures to be included in economy calculations. They haven't been included in economy calculations for two weeks now.
