I "jiggered" (technical term
) some things in the last update which meant the selected wallpaper change frequency got reset. Go to menu>settings to select the wallpaper change frequency.Like a lot of people here I've been waiting a loonnng time for this game, so I couldn't resist contributing and getting involved somehow!

It seems a little bizarre and strange, if not unfair, that people like us, the backers on the forums, are finding images almost by accident.
I (and many many others) paid extra for the promises of the Private Backers Forum back in the kickstarter days, and apart from the handful of images it has delivered in the time of Peek of the Week, I've gained very little from it that I haven't found elsewhere. But the Countdown App has delivered some great stuff - and that's free and available to anybody - and developed totally independently of FD.
Apart from doing a great job as a whole, I think FD should have another look at what they're giving to backers on the Forums, who are perhaps the most actively invested in the game. Information is getting drip-fed, which is understandable when they're busy making a great game. But, there are many other space games being built that manage to engage their backers much more than ED. And if I remember correctly, this was very much the main complaint during kickstarter - not enough news from the developers. Even David himself mentioned in an interview afterwards that they did this, and that they had learned a lot from it. But I see some improvement, not significantly though.
Sorry to sound like a downer. I'm not. But really, this forum is so active, FD should make it the main and authoritiative source of backer content, not spread out all over the web where we have to go hunting for it like beggars looking for scraps. My time is too busy as it is.

FOr all the gaps in Frontier information is filled with community out put!! Its amazing... Lave Radio, Retro Lave, The conclave, Tales from the frontier, news, Drew Wagars website, ANd Here the Wheel..
all pumping out really good stuff weekly.... plenty to keep you going..

@djh - The PBF will come into its own next week when we move to a proper store to purchase. My take is that pre orders will not get the access to the PBF. Thus the PBF will become a forum populated only by the backers. I fully expect the PBF to maintain the friendly forum its been for 12 months, but other parts of the ED forums to become more dog eat dog.

Thanks Clerec, had to turn off the announcements for wallpaper changes (my phone is a little too over-helpful in that regard
), but I like the idea of changing wallpapers, as I'm lazy 
loaded it today on my Samsung Note II - works great!

Indeed! Software development is never as straight forward as one would hope!
So, until we get a more definite date, I'm merely going off the "Estimated delivery" from the Kickstarter project page - which is Mar 2014.
Not to worry though - I'll be keeping tabs on everything in case I need to update the app!
