Am I the only one to buy a new copy of ED from the Frontier store today? (I have the insane desire to start over!)
Not really wanting another Steam login, it made perfect sense to get the Frontier launched one - but I was to parsimonious to spend £40 for both base+horizons...

Just wait 5 more years and I'm sure Odyssey will be free too! I'm going to pay to play it when it comes out, but that's just me.

Some of you people with your forum posts make me laugh. Your perceived entitlement for getting more stuff free from an expansion which is three years old now because you paid for something three years ago and now it's being added to all other elite dangerous accounts for nothing because a bigger expansion is coming out imminently. Give me a break and give Frontier a break it's the best thing they could do given the complexity of the new expansion when it arrives.

You're talking about people who either don't understand or willfully ignore basic common commercial concepts we all accept as normal in daily life. Anyone who`s trying to educate someone whos that entrenched in such a nonsensical position has really got their work cut out...

I honestly didn't think the guy was serious and was just looking for a reaction. Mission successful, if that was the case.

Or if he was serious, he's gonna have an awful shock when he comes to sell the graphics card he bought three years ago.

I'm sorry for those who bought the expansion. If you would have waited you would be able to play it for free now. Well, at least you can color up your ship now. If you plan to buy comming expansion, have fun with it......

Ignoring the fighters gives us 38 ships paint jobs at 3820 Arx per that would cost around £60 to buy the Arx even if we assume that the Onyx isn't that pricey I doubt the cash equivalent of the Arx is going to be any lower than £40.

It seems not unreasonable to me especially as most copies of Horizons won't have been bought for anything like that much.

I'm excited to try this out on my Rift S, but FYI the game is currently broken on the Oculus store. Launching via the Oculus Library just gives an error message, and manually starting it via the game's folder you get a message to use the Oculus Home to launch instead.

Seriously. The DLC cost is a "don't wait five years for it to be released" fee. If you don't want to pay for Odyssey, just wait a few years and eventually it will be free too. Or you can pay now, and play now (well, when it's released, duh).

Also now I have at least one paint job for every ship! Booyeah!!!



Steam/PC; had to download almost 200MiB of data (which didn't do much..?) but otherwise the game seems fine, no massive reinstall or anything.

Had to do 20gb in the end, there’s been a lot of updates today though on various games, think my son had overloaded it.

Sorted now though. 👍

Ugh, the entitlement and spoil factor raises at an all time high for some I see.

This is the best decision Fdev could've made, what would you have them do, include it in Odyssey and raise the price for those without Horizons?

If you had fun playing Horizons then measure it's value by that, not by what others payed for it.

My take on the Original Post,
It's a step forward - I'll look forward to Odyssey
They do need to focus a little on their balancing issues and the 'fixes' that have been implemented recently.
Alongside a plethora of other small code repairs.
