If you're using Steam and you've already purchased Horizons, you now have to start the game from the Elite Dangerous menu option in Steam, not the Elite Dangerous Horizons menu option.

I don't know why, but since the patch my Frame Rate-in space-has dropped from over 50 to barely 15 FPS. Not even remotely amused by this!

after clicking alt download I did finally get it to work but have not had a chance to test since I only have a few hours to play each night, I lost all of last night due to a poorly ran update, never have I seen such a disaster for what should have been a simple update.

Ok...I hate people whining about problems with this sim, but after 1 year of problem less upgrades/patches here it comes, this is the elephant in the room.... as soon as horizons arrived so did the problems...launcher problems are unadressed...except to tell us to uninstall & reinstall...sounds like an indian call centre...... it seems you want all to use steam so that we can impulse buy their stuff, I played this game when it was on the first nintendo & is why I chose it over star citizen, but its getting harder & harder trying to fix all the problems every upgrade brings, simply to get the thing I originally paid for, which is to play the game...I'm not a computer whiz...I dont like fiddling with files like data.ova or changing the launcher config file to V4 because it says V2....I want to play Elite Dangerous...not play around with my computer, this is what I paid for. I work all day fixing other people's problems when I play a game it is for relaxation, dont make your problems mine.
Ah joy - the missions are still borked.

Michael confirmed before that they are not putting any patches for missions until the revamp in 2.1.
I'm new to this game, paid for the delux edition(not sure why) all I managed to do was the training and the day I tried to actually play it decided to update and hasn't worked since, not sure if its a good game, I must admit it looked good but after this ive just asked them for a refund, cant be bothered with all the uninstall,delete,rename move this etc etc, its an expensive game and should work.

So, like many others it would seem, I am having issues updating the PC launcher (NON-Steam). I was playing the game fine on Monday but upon starting today, I get the following error:
I have installed the new client, including manually downloading from the Frontier site. I have followed some non-Steam troubleshooting steps, including removing the launcher and files from my computer, but I am STILL getting this message every time! What's stranger is that if I select 'No' and load the launcher it displays the following version info:
Does anyone have any recommendations please because all I am finding on the forums are Steam related issues...

Strange decision, but ok - see you later.
I've been playing ED since Beta but to be honest, I've grown tired of the play testing. I'd like to progress further with the game but i've lost confidence in it and don't want to waste my, very limited, spare time trying to do missions that then fail for various reasons or are impossible to complete. I love the game, but right now, there's nothing keeping me with it and loads attracting me away.
Incidentally - has anyone else noticed that the Compute Shaders prep (which happens after every update) only works when the game is in the foreground?
I often switch to another app while I'm waiting, return to the game and this step is stuck and hasn't budged until I switch back to it. It might be because I've a low-end machine..
