Release Elite Dangerous HUD Mod (EDHM)

Could it be possible to add a shadow behind the compass, just like the one behind the panels?

Unfortunately not, I can't add things that aren't there (except in special circumstances, like the FSS overlay in Horizons). I agree it would be better with some panel opacity behind the compass as it often becomes lost in bright starlight. But when I get some time I'll check if there might be another solution

Hi... I really love this tool! But I can't seem to get the automatic theme change to work when changing my ship :(

Everything else works just fine, and I've got the program running and ticked the box for auto-swapping, of course. But it won't work anyway.

Hiya, I didn't make the UI so I can't provide support for it. Best to ask the UI dev (Blue Mystic) in the EDHM Discord

Just a weird idea but .... what about "negative light"? dunno if it be possible but i've seen filters that darkens only the enlighted parts of a picture, so i'm wondering....

I have another question, though:
Geawenki(6 a)_2021-12-08_19-04-58.jpg

Could i assign a key that switches between a dark/light HUD color, so i can change it depending on the bightness/color of the environment?

Hiya, if you installed EDHM via the UI it's best to join the EDHM Discord so you can chat with Blue Mystic (the UI Dev). I can't run the UI as I don't have a standard installation of the mod, so I'm not the best person to provide advice about how to navigate the UI.

However, you might want to check you have pointed the UI to the correct game folders:

Code:
Default Game Locations:
STEAM:
--------------------------------------------------
Horizons: %PROGRAMFILES%\Steam\steamapps\common\Elite Dangerous\Products\elite-dangerous-64\
Odyssey: %PROGRAMFILES%\Steam\steamapps\common\Elite Dangerous\Products\elite-dangerous-odyssey-64\
Odyssey: %PROGRAMFILES%\Steam\steamapps\common\Elite Dangerous\Products\FORC-FDEV-DO-1000\

EPIC GAMES:
--------------------------------------------------
Horizons: %PROGRAMFILES%\Epic Games\EliteDangerous\Products\elitedangerous-64\
Odyssey: %PROGRAMFILES%\Epic Games\EliteDangerous\Products\elite-dangerous-odyssey-64\

FRONTIER:
--------------------------------------------------
Horizons: %PROGRAMFILES%\Frontier\Products\elite-dangerous-64\
Odyssey: %PROGRAMFILES%\Frontier\Products\elite-dangerous-odyssey-64\

Some people only install the Horizons version and find it's not working in Odyssey, or vice versa. Also make sure the UI is fully updated, and there is an option to update within the app (but I'm not sure where it is)

For any other questions about the UI, please join the EDHM discord and post in the #ui-app channel, thanks
I have the game installed in a different way. Not the ones described in this message. Errors constantly appear about the operation of this program. The reasons for these errors are not very clear. Plus - which operating system is this software for? I have Windows 7
x64 pro.

Is there a detailed guide on using EDHM UI anywhere? I installed it, it detected the folders and I verified they were correct. It works fine for Horizions, but Odyssey shows no themes and when I select "update EDHM mod" it gives me an error stating it cant find "XML-Profile.ini" in the odyssey folder.

There are way less files in the EDHM folder for Odyssey than Horizons, so I'm assuming the installer didnt fully install it?

EDIT: Well I downloaded the source and added in the mission files, tho tyhe installer and source are different versions. Its a mess and the UI doesnt reflect the actual profile saved to the game, it works and thats good enough for now.

and @Faramir

Hi CMDRs, I don't use the UI so I can't help unfortunately. My game folders have different shader versions plus work in progress files that I can't manage with the UI, so I have to do everything manually.

I recommend chatting with the developer of the UI, Blue Mystic, on the EDHM Discord. He always finds a solution to these sorts of issues

Hi. Is there any way to get rid of the planets text whitout disable panels text? I set Circles color to transparent but those names to the right of the planets look awful

Hi, been using this for a while now and really liking it but have one issue, not major just something i hope you can point a way to change, when mining using the PWA the initial scan activation flash colour is green (same colour as NV) then as normal goes through stages of orange to yellow depending on content, what would i need to change to have the default yellow/orange flash colour return?
TIA

This is in Odyssey?

Yeah there's a setting in the UI to adjust the various parts of Night Vision and the PWA pulse .. I don't have the UI myself but it's probably under special effects or something like that (assuming you have the latest version of the UI, it was only added this week)

In Startup-Profile.ini (in the EDHM-ini folder) these are the parameters that get altered by the UI, and should hopefully be set to = 200 (Elite default)

Hiya, I'm not sure what you mean .. do you have a screenshot?
Right now im not on my gaming PC but ill try to describe things a little better: When in supercruise you can see those circles around the planets and right next to them, their names. What Id like to do is to get rid of those names floating in space as they take away all the beauty of the game and also the realism of being in space. In EDHM_UI I found that main text color is what changes the color of those names so i set that to custom - transparent and it worked but problem is all the text in menus and ship panels also goes trasnparent so I cant read anything lol.
Id really love to make those planets and stations names dissapear and really hope someone could help with doing so. Thanks for reading this.

That is exactly what i meant except itss for EDH, i dont have them lines in any of my ini`s

I have

;------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
; ** Night Vision **
;------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
; Set x112 value for your favourite night vision colour
; 1 = Light Blue
; 2 = Yellow
; 3 = Red
; 4 = Green
; 5 = Light Green
; 6 = Light Purple
; 7 = Pink
; 8 = Original Elite Green
x112 =8

If i comment that out would that fix it? (just finished playing, didnt even think to try it)

thanks

If you've selected option 8 (Original Elite Green) by setting x112 = 8, then theoretically it should be bypassing any modded content in the Night Vision shader

But just to be sure you're seeing Elite default, you can delete the Night Vision shader from the ShaderFixes folder

1. Exit Elite (important)
2. Go into the ShaderFixes folder (\elite-dangerous-64\ShaderFixes\)
3. Delete the shader file 0f2b92ba5625c61f-ps.txt (this is the modded Night Vision shader)
4. Re-start Elite

Now anything you're seeing with the PWA / Night Vision is absolutely default Elite, no other shaders influence those elements

If you still don't trust me :) then you can disable the mod completely by double-clicking the EDHM-uninstall.bat (while Elite is closed, this will uninstall the mod), or for a temporary disable, go into the 'elite-dangerous-64' folder (while Elite is closed) and put a dash (-) in front of the following files:

Code:
-d3d11.dll
-d3dcompiler_46.dll
-d3dx.ini
-nvapi64.dll

Then re-start Elite.

The mod won't load with those files disabled, and what you're seeing is pure FDev

To restore the mod, Exit Elite, delete the dashes, then restart, and the mod will return

Please let me know what you see

Yes I understand now! I think this will be possible, though I'm only modding Odyssey now. Before I look into it, I just want to check you're playing Ody?

Yes, Odyssey, sorry for not mention it before. If this could be done it'll be fantastic! :)

Oh btw in the EDHM_UI when the "Targeting reticle" tile is selected there is "text brightness" slider wich is supposed to change exactly Planets Text but doesnt work in odyssey I believe
