Hi CMDRs,
With the upgrade scheduled for tonight you might want to backup your ini settings because the whole elite-dangerous-64 folder will get wiped .. happens with every update
The most simple way to backup your settings:
i. Go into the elite-dangerous-64 folder where you installed the mod
ii. Copy the EDHM-ini folder (and all contents) to somewhere else on your hard drive .. anywhere else but inside the Elite Dangerous install folder
And that's it! Easy peasy
After the update, we should see two different folders: one for Horizons (eg. elite-dangerous-64) and one for Odyssey (eg. odyssey-64)
We don't know the exact names of the folders yet, but I'll update this post when we do .. elite-dangerous-64 might change to something like 'beyond-64'
The mod will only work with the Horizons/Beyond version, it won't work with Odyssey yet
To reinstall EDHM Horizons with your previous settings:
i. Download the zip file from the EDHM GitHub (direct link to the zip file)
ii. Refer to the Manual Page 6 & 7 for default locations of the elite-danagerous-64 folder. It's important you read these two pages
iii. Unzip the zip file into the elite-dangerous-64 folder (or whatever the Horizons/Beyond folder is called)
iv. Delete the folder 'EDHM-ini' (in the elite-danagerous-64 folder)
v. Copy your backup version of the 'EDHM-ini' folder into the elite-dangerous-64 folder
Note: If the elite-dangerous-64 folder changes its name we will need to update the mod install path in the UI, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it
Please let me know if you have any questions
PS. Here are the default locations for the elite-dangerous-64 folder (taken from the EDHM Manual)
