Release Elite Dangerous HUD Mod (EDHM)

I am using the Cornflower blue. It's not a big deal though :) I was wondering if it can be modified. Or maybe a way to change color instead of green? Like a yellow or white would no longer need brightness adjustment.
Great work, really great work you have put here....

Yeah you might be able to change the colour, but it would have to be via tweaking the XML matrix as I can't apply colour selectively to panels with tabs. Once Odyssey is launched we can relook at the options available and maybe some new techniques will emerge. But in the meantime I recommend experimenting with the ship panel matrix in XML-Profile.ini, and remember you can press F11 to reload the mod each time you change a value (so you don't have to exit Elite to see changes)

Sorry to ask but i've not been able to solve myself:

My spacesuit should be .... orange :D

I don't know what setting (what varriable) in EDHM affects its but i'd like to keep it original. What should i check?

Yeah it's the coloured cabin / cockpit lighting, it affects everything including the CMDR's skin tone. When taking a selfie I recommend turning the mod off with SHIFT F1

But to restore the natural colours then set the cabin lighting colour to 16 (standard Elite colour) in Startup-Profile.ini

goodbye oh bestest of mods you will be missed

haha no need to say goodbye just yet! I predict EDHM will continue to work in Horizons mode, but the Odyssey version will take a lot of work.

Assuming it’s similar to the alpha, I hope to get the front HUD ready in about a week, the ship panels within 2 weeks, but the station panels will take a long time, possibly up to 2 months. Everything has changed on the station panels, and to mod it correctly I have to find every little icon, line, picture etc and either include or exclude them from the mod.

But we’ll have a better idea in 24hrs, see you on the other side! o7

Hi CMDRs,

With the upgrade scheduled for tonight you might want to backup your ini settings because the whole elite-dangerous-64 folder will get wiped .. happens with every update

The most simple way to backup your settings:

i. Go into the elite-dangerous-64 folder where you installed the mod

ii. Copy the EDHM-ini folder (and all contents) to somewhere else on your hard drive .. anywhere else but inside the Elite Dangerous install folder

And that's it! Easy peasy

After the update, we should see two different folders: one for Horizons (eg. elite-dangerous-64) and one for Odyssey (eg. odyssey-64)

We don't know the exact names of the folders yet, but I'll update this post when we do .. elite-dangerous-64 might change to something like 'beyond-64'

The mod will only work with the Horizons/Beyond version, it won't work with Odyssey yet

To reinstall EDHM Horizons with your previous settings:

i. Download the zip file from the EDHM GitHub (direct link to the zip file)

ii. Refer to the Manual Page 6 & 7 for default locations of the elite-danagerous-64 folder. It's important you read these two pages

iii. Unzip the zip file into the elite-dangerous-64 folder (or whatever the Horizons/Beyond folder is called)

iv. Delete the folder 'EDHM-ini' (in the elite-danagerous-64 folder)

v. Copy your backup version of the 'EDHM-ini' folder into the elite-dangerous-64 folder

Note: If the elite-dangerous-64 folder changes its name we will need to update the mod install path in the UI, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it

Please let me know if you have any questions

PS. Here are the default locations for the elite-dangerous-64 folder (taken from the EDHM Manual)

Oh, crap, oh, crap, OH CRAP! I totally forgot about this. I didn't back up last night, and I won't be able to until I get home later today AFTER the update is complete. ☹️

I still can do it as long as I don't start up the launcher, right? RIGHT??

Mine was already deleted when the update took prior to me booting it up, but if you use BlueMystic's EDHM UI mod as well, it should have your layout saved if you saved it as a profile on there like mine was.

So Odyssey and Horizons are sharing the same main directory? I thought they were kept separate... Updating just Horizons didn't delete anything on me.

Can't wait to test ot what you bring for Odyssey! This is such an awesome mod and I really hope you get a chance to play while you're working with a new setup for all of us uber fans!

Thank you for making the game a LOT better just with a change of colors!

Odyssey Update

Hi CMDRs,

As expected, the shader addresses have changed in Odyssey, and possibly the internal structure as well.

Therefore, EDHM v1.51 will not work with Odyssey, but continues to work as before with Horizons.

Don't try to load v1.51 into Odyssey, it really won't work

EDHM v2.0 update schedule:
Front HUD - May 31, then
Ship Panels - 1 week, then
Station panels - 1 to 2 months (I have to start from scratch)

These times are very rough estimates as I haven't had a chance to evaluate the similarity of the Odyssey and Horizons shaders.

As updates become available I will post them here and the first post in this thread. If you'd like to help beta test the development of v2.0, or make suggestions to improve EDHM, then you're welcome to join the EDHM discord

I see how now can be an hassle, but looking forward in the future, i could be a better idea to open a new thread for Odissey, and keep this one for ED and Horizons.
One day EDHM will work on Odissey and here will be user discussing different problems and seeing different updates.

Just a suggestion :)

Today I had a look at Odissey, after many months of using this wonderful colour-changing tool and finding everything orange was a shock. I can't wait to try the new version of EDHM for Odissey, in the meantime Good Work.

Hi CMDRs,

I'm currently locked out of both Odyssey and Horizons with a 'LOAD ERROR - Problem retrieving Commander data from the server'

Has been going on for about 12 hrs, and submitted a ticket but no response yet.

Made a thread about it in the Odyssey forums

I'm not able to work on the mod update until this is resolved, fingers crossed it's soon
