Yeah, the pop up notification off the standalone launcher says you need version 1.7.6925.0

The one downloaded though is still the old one (0.4.6779.0) as of just now.

It's not behaving.

I'm trying to use the Frontier Launcher. When I double clicked on my current launcher icon from my desktop, it told me a new version was available to download. Which I did. I then launched the exe and it went through its instllation process.

It then asked me to reboot. Which I did.

Now, when I launch from the new desktop icon, it keeps telling me there is a new version - whch is exactly the same as the one I just downloaded.

ETA: I did not go through the store for this.

Sounds like a case of Schrodinger's launcher.

Just a note - the new installer is throwing Microsoft Defender Smartscreen alert and asking if the user really wish to run the app, which may look suspicious to many users. It seems some certificate or so may have been missed when building the new launcher installer.

Extra note: When running the installer, it gets identified as APB Reloaded game in the Discord, which may look even more suspicious and confusing.

Whenever I download something - no matter where from - I always run a BitDefender scan on it. That confirmed a clean file.

Yep. Successful game launch from the stand alone launcher.
Barebones compared to the Galnet articles / Paintjob ads on the last one, imagine that'll change as the launcher evolves?

One immediate issue is Minimise and Close buttons are half hidden, disappearing off the top of my screen.
Useable, but guesswork.

I see the Steam launcher has news / cosmetics when you scroll down the right - I don't have them on the fdev version. Not an issue, just ... different.
