Yet another victim of the continuing trend of tiny-mobile-phone-screen interfaces blown up to cover an entire desktop with empty space and pictures, whilst hiding what little information and functionality remains behind levels of button presses and scrolling.
Sorry, but this pet peeve of mine will not be contained.
I guess the rise of handheld PC gaming devices is the forgiving factor in this case...

Just looked at the new steam version. LIke it. Loads and cloases faster. Has a great look too!
the fun part of the install for me was the confirming of direct x9 installation

Yes but neither of the options, i.e. Settings or Log out actually can be highlighted and selected so atm totally useless.
Amazing really that so many things are missing or do not work on a 'workable update' that wasn't needed in the first place.
Does anyone have the original Elite dangerous icon file ??? as the 'new, improved' version just looks cheap and nasty.

if in game go to launher close it reopen should then work thats what i do.
Just checked and both can now be selected, seems it's a 'work in progress' as there is still no 'news' items,but did we really need to go through a drop down context menu to then select something that was available with just one click before?
It may be 'clean' and visually appealing but hardly user friendly or functional.
Oh, so that's where it is. I must admit it had not occurred to me that the link to the forum would be under "settings".
That does indeed seem a bit daft, on the other hand how often does one need to click on that link..
I can't say I like the new logo much either, but I think that ship sailed months ago.
The game itself still uses the old logo on the taskbar, though, so it must be in there somewhere.
It is never too early for pitchforks.
Also, I wanted to do a "I am Sally, and so is my wife" joke, but I have the feeling Flossy's forgotten comma is a few pages too far back now.
The game exe hasn't changed, so same logo. The launcher changed, new logo. Maybe you'll get a pleasant surprise the next time the game updates.

I personally apprechiate the Logo-change, as I recognize now in the task bar directly Launcher.exe versus Game.exe
EPIC: works fine from the beginning
Steam: the same
direct Frontier:
new verification required, worked fine after. As I run more then 1 Frontier account, I had then to copy the Launcher-directory as before
I hoped this would be not more need
So, all fine from my side, but some things are missing now in the Launcher frontend, as previously stated.

To be a bit more on topic: Update worked fine. Also, the old method of making copies of the launcher for multiple accounts still works. Steam version launcher is fine, Frontier standalone version is missing all the scroll down fluff for me too, just as another confirmation.
I don't have to, neither when launching from Steam nor when launching from a desktop shortcut (calling steam://rungameid/359320).
