I understand that for a small number of players who play in VR, the lack of its support is a disappointment. But it is extremely difficult to make it for such a thing as space legs, starting from the possibility of at least some computer to rrun it, ending with the complexity of development and complexity with the balance. Players should now be busy not throwing excrement at the FD for VR, but asking questions. And the main question is whether the interiors of ships and stations will be implemented, because gamestar writes that we will only be able to walk on planets. In this case it is a complete disgrace to the FD and disrespect to ALL players

Maybe you should do as you say? How about ask questions about that foreign language website you are using as a source? And why would something be a disgrace if it isnt even advertised as a feature?

I wonder how much flying would be involved in Odyssey. I mean, you're gonna have people running around on the planet... imagine the griefing someone could do if they decided to use their FDL to start shooting dumbfire rockets at players on the ground? I'd be willing to bet more than a few credits that our ships can't fly anywhere near where players are at on atmo planets, with or without VR.
I fear you are right :(

I really can't express how dissapointed I am by this.

I will keep it short - No VR support - NO BUY. I find this decision INSULTING. You basically decided to EXCLUDE a small portion of your playerbase, just because?

You must realize that going from VR to a flat screen is a no go right? How is it even supposed to work? Am I supposed to EXIT THE GAME, RELAUNCH IT, only to experience the new content?

Haven't been this much dissapointed in a gaming company for a while. WHAT A JOKE. :|
I think you hit the nail on the head right there.

HA HA HA! Yes. They literally made this decision to insult you. You figured it out!
of course they insul you, they want to bring new player
It's a business decision, weighing cost and time of development versus lost sales from some customers. It's not "insulting" or "offensive" or any of that nonsense. 🤣

Elite is born from a crowfunding...not from buisness and now they just carz about buisness, it's a very bad news for vr player

I hear what you are saying but I do disagree. IF VR was a take it or leave it feature, nice to have then sure I would.probsbly ask about that too .. but without VR I am not bothered if ship's interiors are there or not to be honest. It's not No VR no buy for me but it is no VR no desire to play. Which is a shame . It would seem my ED journey may be coming to an end. For some time now I have kept an interest by thi Kong about what comes next... However what comes next seems to be content I won't be able to use.

Imagine the uproar if in the dirt rally season pass it turned out the main game worked on a wheel bit the DLC was pad only...... If the Devs can't do it pay the guys from NMS they did a cracker of a job.

Greetings Commanders,

Thank you for your overwhelmingly positive response to the announcement of Elite Dangerous: Odyssey. We’ve been really excited to share this and it’s amazing to see that you all feel the same way!

This is just the beginning and we will be sharing more details and information in the coming months that you can look forward to.

We’re seeing all your streams, videos, posts and questions and, today, we wanted to answer a few for you straight away:

Is Elite Dangerous: Odyssey coming to VR?

Currently, Elite Dangerous: Odyssey will not be VR-compatible at launch. We’re big fans of VR and we are truly proud of the amazing experience that we currently offer in Elite Dangerous. However, the new gameplay, mechanics and features that will be introduced with Elite Dangerous: Odyssey means that we had to re-examine if we could deliver that same experience without compromise, which, for launch, means Odyssey will not be VR-compatible.

Will there be Base Building in Elite Dangerous: Odyssey?
Base building is not currently on the roadmap for Elite Dangerous, however we have plenty of new features planned instead such as on-foot exploration, new planetary tech, social hubs, combat as well as more to be shared later on! We’re looking to put our best foot forward with Odyssey and if you’d like an overview of what to expect, you can check out the website or Steam page.

Will Elite Dangerous: Odyssey be included in my Lifetime Expansion Pass?
While Elite Dangerous: Odyssey is a paid expansion, we're happy to confirm that yes, this expansion will absolutely be included in the Lifetime Expansion Pass for free.

Stay Safe, Commanders o7

no VR = NO DEAL.
i would like to explore strange new worlds in my VR, i don't completely care it will be with compromises or not. Every VR owner is aware a VR is specific.
