I think you can switch from VR to pancake only by restarting the game. Thanks for the info Tim. Can you confirm that the walking around part is not VR compatible? Or are you saying VR will be removed form the game completely? The latter will obviously cause some major issues for some. I wouldn't like to be stuck with just CQC for this VR space sim experience.
As long as I can fly down to these planets, or roam around in an SRV, then all good. I'll just switch to big screen for the on foot stuff.
Cheers
So if I understood correctly.Just to add to this, VR will still be compatible with the base game and Horizons!
actually we are going back. If we can't play the functions we have now in VR (flying and SRV) in the Oddyssey launcher, it means we have to restart the game everytime we get out of our ship or SRV and back. That's going back.
I also think you're mistaking how many people are playing in VR.
Oh really? What percentage of Elite players are using VR? Source?I also think you're mistaking how many people are playing in VR.
No VR... Ouch. I was kind of holding off on downloading No Man's Sky but I suppose I could give it a shot. I hear good things about it.
I'm curious. Have there been feature updates to the vanilla game after Horizons was launched? I have no experience with vanilla myself, I've only ever played Horizons.
What I'm after here is whether this means that for the VR users (who won't migrate over from Horizons to Odyssey), the game will effectively stop evolving once Odyssey launches and all future content updates will be applied as increments on top of Odyssey only? Or do the vanilla and Horizons versions still get new features, not just the mandatory maintenance updates to keep them compatible with a common back end that evolves according to Odyssey's roadmap?
The developers at 'Hello Games' must be jumping up and down with an abundance of joy after reading Frontiers confirmation of 'No VR support'. Well its NMS who will now have my full support and I look forward to enjoying all that their game provides; which is a considerable amount more than what Frontier can offer. Talk about how a small team of devs can put Frontier to shame. NMS is already a VR masterpiece and with each passing month improves even more. Elite Dangerous, on the other hand, appears to be going backwards... Your statement should read, "Odyssey anyone? We will not give you VR but our Frontier artists will work hard at giving you space-suit paint jobs: Ca-ching!, Ca-ching!"
If VR isn't continued at some point.. I'm over and out w/Elite, too.Rest in Peace Elite: Dangerous. You had a great run.
Does anyone want my stuffz?
That is THE question !I'm curious. Have there been feature updates to the vanilla game after Horizons was launched? I have no experience with vanilla myself, I've only ever played Horizons.

Yes, plenty.Have there been feature updates to the vanilla game after Horizons was launched? I have no experience with vanilla myself, I've only ever played Horizons.

Probably not a lot in percentage. But this is not a justification to remove something that is already in. It can only be a justification not to do it in the first place.Oh really? What percentage of Elite players are using VR? Source?
