That speaks to competency. And I`m meaning that at a specific, individual level, not a group / org level.
There's aspects of that, sure. But what's more concerning that - in this current climate - is that certain individual choices which have been made about the style of engagement have made things significantly worse, for no explainable reason, and for no benefit. I cannot fathom why this has been tolerated, it simply makes no sense whatsoever. It's like some people are not being managed, at all.
Would be real nice to see the first post of this thread updated. I visit the forums so I don't have to dig through numerous social media platforms.

yep, they are not colouring themselves well. Now would be a pretty good time for them to make a full announcement about the real reasons behind dropping VR, the broken mechanics, the broken lighting and texturing, the broken gameplay, and most importantly, the broken trust
When you're in a hole you need to stop digging.
So according to the official posts on the forum it's patch day. Yeah, I know it isn't. Everybody probably knows it isn't, and yet YOU HAVEN'T OFFICIALLY TOLD US.

Can you please tell us why the official source of information according to the game launcher and game website hasn't been updated? The edit link is usually in the bottom left of the post if that helps.
This 'better communication' you're supposedly commiting to is just for twitch and twitter, yeah? Make it as hard as possible to be on record as having said something 'official'?
Is it difficult to have a sticky post with replies turned off that you update with this stuff?
As mentioned above, update 5 is going to have to be an astonishing delivery. I've said elsewhere, but a new roadmap moving forward is now needed if you in any way want to manage community expectations - otherwise you're always going to underdeliver on an implied overpromise.

I really hope we are not reaching the limit of what FD can create! and be efficiently be supported by the servers and greater network. The main issues for a business are Time Resources and Money especially Money, with respect Covid19 and it variants should no longer be a major issue any restraints in that arena should be functioning smoothly i.e. folks working from home. So in getting work done as most of our country "appears operational" certainly in my region, traffic is back to pre covid19 levels all businesses open (those who survived) some are happily expanding creating new jobs. So it dose make you wonder what the problems really are, and why was there no courtesy POST in the forums about the delay???? Are we getting to a cul-de-sac I hope not.

Yaaaaaawn.
The game is now CLEARLY broken. Wake up to the reality of it. As for giving it a chance I've been giving Elite Dangerous a chance for 7 years of loyal play and support. So yeah I remember this iteration of the Elite franchise from literally day one so don't play the "salty sea dog veteran" card here. I've also put in many hours of game play with this hot mess. Odyssey is broken...Fact.

I think, (especially looking at what other games are already doing) they just need to catch up a bit, and rather than panic rush, trust their current following of players and produce a proper finished and polished product, although I think they should probably invest in getting some tech and graphic specialists from other game studios in to fix all that is now broken
I can tell you. Becuase this stuff isn't considered important work by the team lead. If it was, the team lead would have made sure it was done already.

May I strongly suggest an 'Important Announcements / Live News' Subforum or post for information that's erm, important, like major known issues, next patch date (tentative), prospective fixes (tentative). Lock it. Keep it pinned, keep it updated. We don't need to reply to that or discuss it there (or if we do, have a patch discussion thread/subforum).
I am aware of the irony of posting this in a 'News and Bulletins' forum. It is frankly, cluttered and messy.
A litte bit of prep work here could save the CM team considerable time in responding to the same damn questions over and over, and at the same time dampen the dumpster fire that not having those questions (obviously, if at all) answered causes.
