Elite Dangerous: Odyssey | Update 12 Update Notes

My apologies, I didn't know you were search engine challenged. I'll try to not link confirmed issues and instead just contribute to the unconfirmed one instead next time. Thank you!
Search engine challenged? LOL. Small minded you are.

Instead of flinging insults at each other, could we just agree that the issue tracker is not exactly the best tool when it comes to actually tracking bugs ? Even FDEV know that.
To be honest, the issue tracker search engine is a smarter tool than Frop.

I have noticed that our ships are heavier and less manoeuvrable. The Cutter can barely dock automatically on the fleet carriers. I'm not even talking about trying it in manual... The FDL is no longer the proud warrior it used to be, but a boat. Elite is no longer a ship simulator, it's a barge simulator. The flight model was my only reason to continue on Elite, but now I think it's dead.

This is something I really liked about elite as well.

I tried SC several times upon demand from friends, but the flight simulation in space never met my expectations, it felt janky and pretty artificial, to a point where it broke all the immersion for me. For elite, on the other hand, it was the opposite, the accel/decel curve is nice and really gives you the impression you're maneuvering a big f**ng ship. Sad to hear it's gone.

The Cutter was always a boat. Oh wait, this isn't meant to discuss, it's meant to fulfill the Elite is Dead(tm) narrative.

Try disabling Rotational Correction in the ship settings as a workaround, see if that helps.

To drive SRV sanely you need to disable drive assist. Though previously it worked.
I told you: this is another game which just pretends to be Elite we knew before Odyssey.

Odyssey has nothing to do with it, why do some folks have to always attach Odyssey bad to everything? It's always been that way with the SRV. One of the first things I realized about the SRV was to disable drive assist. The next was hoping that one day I could get out and walk, and thanks to Odyssey I can now do that.

Drive assist, like it's flight equivalent Flight Assist, is a different 'model' that behaves in a different way. Most drive with DA-off as you imply, but if you are using a self-centring axis for SRV throttle drive assist will allow the player to 'bump up' (or down) the speed, like cruise control IRL. It's not objectively worse, it is just a different way to control the vehicle. Mouse users have a broadly similar toggle that FA-off kb/m users regularly have to switch over (absolute position vs relative).

The current issue with the excessive drift in some ships, particularly noticeable while docking appears to only happen with rotational correction on (the default). Switching it off to dock can give me a significant reduction in drift as a workaround, but unlike your drive assist example, it does appear to be a bug rather than intended behaviour.

Your opinion that the game is not what it was is acknowledged. Prior to the Odd launch the 'complete codebase rewrite' was often mooted to be the golden child. Time has told a different story.

That actually sounds more realistic rather than less. Try docking ships in Space Engineers - it takes real effort and focus! I always found Elite's flight model to be arcade-like in comparison. But if you want really nippy ships (too much so IMO), try X4.

If this new momentum is by design, then of course Frontier needs to adjust their docking computers to the new parameters. But the question remains - is this by design or accident? Also, is it just drift that's effected, or pitch, roll, and yaw as well?

FD likely doesn't know...
