I....see.
Hope you have a better day as it goes on, ObiW. Here to help with game related stuff (not so much the refund side but) if need be.
Sally I hope you don't take this personal (wouldn't ever be my intention, I always separate individual employees from the company they work for), but the point stands as I'm referring to a multi million £ company (which happens to be your employer) which promised and advertised a product, took my money (at a premium price to be their free Alpha tester, but yes I agreed to this so my own fault), and I patiently waited for months,
without putting through a refund request just prior to release date - unlike others - in the (ultimately futile by the looks of things) hope that things would get turned around (I wasn't too pleased around the Alpha with the state of the game but I still had faith that things would improve). All while I remember myself defending Frontier and the game to posters at the time who joked about "release will be the Beta" etc. Egg truly on my face.
Why Frontier decided to release the game in the state it had, we can all figure it out I'm sure and for fear of moderation will not go further into this. But it ruined a lot of goodwill, certainly did for me, and on top of all the bugs, visual/performance issues and the game design choices, the whole cosmetics issue is annoying me particularly given I spent 500+ Euros on stuff that no longer looks as advertised, at least in Odyssey.
I consider it a sunk cost at this stage and a valuable life lesson (never pay such sums of money for game cosmetics again), regarding the refund for EDO it's not even a money issue for me but one of principle. If you bought a broken product wouldn't you want your money back? This entire debacle is 100% on Frontier the PLC which makes millions in profits by selling their software to customers. So if they mess up (and they have) I think it's pretty reasonable that they'd have to face some headwind accordingly - which is what I referred to in my (somewhat flippant) comment above.
But thanks for wishing me a better day, I wish you the same; I reckon you certainly need it more than I do.
Edited out some duplication
