Wow, just wow! I'll comment properly, +rep you and provide some feedback when I'm back at my PC. For now know this: I'm amazed at the amount of work that went into this!

Very nice, I actually learned a couple of things!

For some reason if you download the text version from scribd it has loads of spelling mistakes such as 'frst' instead of 'first'. Weird. PDF is fine.

Great work! Amazing actually, for what it had to cover.

Have another misspelling I don't think has been mentioned. On page 14, the HUD diagram, you have "Canon" on the reticle display, when it should be "Cannon".

actually i found 5 canons, fixed now but upload new version later :)

the scribd transforms my pdf into preview pictures (those you see on the web and they are lower quality) and when you try to save as txt it converts from something, while it should save directly from pdf but if there are 'frst' and such mistakes then more likely it converts to txt from images :)

anyway use pdf for best experience.

All instructions I've checked has one huge mistake: they do not list default buttons for various functions so I have to switch constantly between game and instruction to find out what is the button for vertical strafe, yaw, horizontal strafe, boost, retract landing gear, etc. etc. etc.?

And which buttons are the default ones? There are presets for all popular devices: KB only, KB/M, X52, X52Pro, X55, Warthog, HOTAS X, Black Widow, Generic Joystick, Controller pad, Controller pad with yaw. Each of them might be considered as the default one.

I cannot see any mistakes because:
- it is unofficial manual;
- this manual is done by OP out of passion towards the game;
- OP has shared this manual absolutely free of charge;
- OP has spent his free time to create it;
- OP is using HOTAS+rudder pedals+TrackIR;
- most of the users modify existing controls so that they would suit them better.

Simply wonderful, thank you!

I learned the triangles are ships w/ hardpoints deployed! :D

i am planing to include default layout for different input devices as a pictures so anyone just can print out, but i want FD to finalize those layouts (late beta or early gamma).

also as Aleksej pointed out - if i am to include "default" buttons then which ones from 4 main setups - 360 gamepad, kb&m, x52, x55...? all of them? it will only confuse - so i just name the functions and if they are somewhere hidden in user interface i point to them by full path

i am pretty sure 90% of pilot's are flying with custom bindings so default controls are not so default, but i did expect this issue to rise and just have no such solution that it will suit all input device users

when i play simulator games i always keep a paper or picture in front of me with all commands and functions written down depending on what device i use, so i suggest you do same and there will be no need to switch between anything - in time you will know what you need to know without looking at diagram anyway ;)

I'm very impressed with your work on this manual, forger. This is absolutely helpfull for a starter like me. Much appreciated!

Excellent work, another rep will be coming from me.

One small point:

STEP 4: ENTERING STATION ON THE RIGHT SIDE
When entering station try to keep closer to GREEN lights – that is the right way

That is down to interpretation rather than any rules. Pretty certain NPCs don't follow that.

neither do i, but the rule is the rule :)

interesting! I will definitely look at this.
Already 1 tip, give the PDF filename also a version number so it's clear when someone downloads it if he's downloading a newer version or not.

if i do that then i cannot keep the same download/view link and anyone who shared links will have to "re"share them with each update, in other words it will be a mess ;)

the version number is on page 2 big enough or anyone to see (scribd) and mediafire has "file size" and "uploaded" fields right right below the file name, those indications should be more than enough.
